Dr. Amanda Canova, MD

Dr. Canova REALLY listens. She is thorough and is concerned with the whole person and overall health, as well as any OB-gyn issues. I always leave her office feeling heard, informed, and reassured that my health is being monitored as it should be.

She spends time with you and going over your concerns. In July '24 she had her staff call me regarding my newly diagnosed osteoporosis as she remember from my Dec 2023 annual checkup that I needed her staff's advise on what medicine I should take (I needed to know before my next annual checkup with her as Medicare changes must be made by Dec 7, 2024).

Dr Canova listens and explains clearly her concerns which are followed up by exam and lab sample. I was treated immediately with appropriate medication based in result of lab results. I follow up with questions via the patient portal with quick response from Dr Canova. Always thoroughly impressed. I have recommended Dr Canova to many women. All of whom find her equally superior to prior care.

Dr. Canova is a very talented and thorough professional. She treats the whole body and is always thorough, kind, considerate, and compassionate in her manner.

In my recent visit both Dr. Canova and her medical assistant spent more than enough time with me to review my health history and issues I was experiencing. She made recommendations on treatment to help me with my health concerns. Would recommend her for your Gynecology care.Trust in her medical treatments. The only negative is that she was delayed for almost an hour with my appointment. I would have thought the staff would have mentioned to those waiting to see her.

I have been with Dr. Canova over 20 years. Such a Brilliant mind and so kind and caring. Dr. Canova take all the time that is needed. She listens and give the best medical advice. I will never leave her practice.

The most unprofessional, rude, incompetent doctor I have ever visited. She doesn't even deserve 1 star.

She consistently lies and hides information, while arrogantly ignoring questions and concerns. Regardless of what you say, she is on a strict template/script route that you can get off outdated web pages (with the internet still providing way more info than her). It doesn’t matter that I was always quirky and friendly with her, even in her “scolding mood” moments. I finally saw a specialist, sadly after she performed surgery on me, (a specialist for which she voluntarily lied about not existing in NJ with insurance coverage) and was informed just how useless her surgical intervention and under-explained “hormonal treatment advice” was. I ignored too many red flags only to realize from other follow-up professionals just how grossly neglectful she was. I am too mad to cover all details, but just know that you should stay away from her, especially if you have endometriosis. She is not at all qualified to remove anything in a meaningful way, and only can cause further damage.

Dr. Canova is a wonderful doctor and I'm so grateful to have come to her. She is so knowledgeable and an expert in her field, but is also so personable, patient, friendly, and comforting. Whether it was a routine annual exam or my bilateral oophorectomy surgery, Dr. Canova always made me feel like I was a priority and that she was always working in my best interest. I can't say enough about this very special woman!

I needed to find a new gyn and saw Dr. Canova for the first time this week. I have never felt so at ease with ANY Dr. as I did with Dr. Canova. She was very kind, patiently answered all of my questions. I did not feel at all rushed. The office staff were both friendly and professional. I am so happy I found her and highly recommend.

Dr. Canova makes you feel comfortable, she is very caring and she also has wonderful bedside manners. This is by far the best doctor you could possibly get; Dr Canova and the entire staff are wonderful. I highly recommend her to anyone who is thinking of seeing a gynecologist.

I found Dr. Canova as part of my network. It has been a long time since I found a doctor I immediately liked— start to finish— everything about her. The last time I had a doctor I like this much she became my general practitioner and she has been for the past decade. If you are able to acces her at either of her locations, definitely do—she’s great.

No words can ever express the gratitude and thanks my husband and I have for Dr. Canova. My water broke at 34 weeks and she was the dr on call that weekend at PMC (I had seen her once before in the hospital). She had the patience and the personality to keep everything at ease along with Nancy the midwife. My bp kept creeping up, baby heartbeat kept fluctuating yet she waited and waited to give me a vaginal birth instead of jumping to a c section. With that and her calmness she is amazing!
