Dr. Allison Hughes, MD

First of all, their patient portal message function is broken so the office tells you to " just email us (!) or leave a voice mail on the office phone." I don't want to leave protected health information on the internet or a message machine. The office knows about the broken portal but continues to advertise via postings in their office about the portal. This has been going on for over a year! Secondly, it's really difficult to get an appointment. Be prepared to book 3 to 6 months ahead of time. When they need to cancel that appointment, be prepared to be told to wait another month or two. Thirdly, their billing arm has told me there was not problem submitting to my insurance yet it's been 3 months and no claim has appeared, even as pending with my insurance.

This is the most unprofessional dermatology office I have ever been in from the admin staff to the nurse practitioners and assistants and finally to Dr Hughes. The “fish rots from the head” is no understatement! The facility is also grubby and disorganized. They are completely unresponsive to any request or question. Recommend not wasting your time or money. I would never trust any procedure given by anyone at this facility.

Beware!!!! They are extremely unprofessional and irresponsible and it was a nightmare seeing her. They made all sorts of mistakes and recommendations. We talked to several other physicians, and all of them think Mercer Island Dermatology recommendation is wrong and unprofessional.

Shady business practices. Dr. Hughes is only interested in collecting money, not the patient’s best interest, or making sure her patient’s results are achieved.
