Terrible Experience
I saw Dr. Berger for help regarding depression and anxiety. I found his approach to be very odd. Within 1 hour, he asked that I go on medication and wrote me a prescription. He then proceeded to criticize alcohol use, question my religious beliefs, and refuse to answer questions about his billing procedures. He’s also very argumentative.

I have very positive reviews of my visits with Dr. Berger. He is a very through and knowledgeable doctor. People say he is old; they fail to understand that with age comes experience and a better understanding of people and how to solve their problems. He is very caring and understanding, knows how to get to the root of your problem, if you give him the chance. He is helping my daughter and me in many ways. If you knew how to solve your problems, you would not need his help. So--be patient, cooperate, and learn all that he is offering. I only wish that I had known of him many years ago; my problems might not have become as severe. By the way, if you need some help, see the good doctor sooner rather than later. Take it from me___ I'm an old senior too!!!!!!!!!!!! A Satisfied Patient

For some reason, I do not see the review that I recently wrote so I am writing again. Because of therapy with Dr. Berger, I am a better wife, mother, and friend. Dr. Berger is highly capable. He may be old, but he is Insightful and truly cares about his patients. His POV for diagnosing and treating a patient reflects what he honestly feels is in the interest of him/her.

I have read the other reviews and want to weigh in that Dr. Berger has been tremendously helpful for our family. Yes he is old but he was able to get to the heart of our issues where others did not. I believe His life experiences and his dedication to his profession were part of that reason. He does not always come across warm and fuzzy but he deeply cares for our well being and is quite competent. Be patient and you will benefit from his services.

Dr Berger urged me from my first visit to attend rehab 3 times per week. Based on other reviews, he seems to do this with every patient which struck me as odd. Particularly, since in the many years I have seen different doctors, never have I been suggested to need rehab. He seemed to be fixated on alcohol consumption and current meds and made me feel very bad. He was very discouraging each visit, so I discontinued seeing him.

It may be beneficial for you to know that I cancelled an appointment with this doctor because it snowed and the roads were icy. I rescheduled the appointment. I am being billed for the appointment on the snow day, and the doctor told me I should have called Uber. The doctor also states in writing that if you need to change an appointment it must be done a week in advance or you will be charged. It seems "Money" is more important to this doctor than the patient. Unfortunate!

I haven't actually seen Dr. Berger as yet, but I like him so far. He returned a message left in the middle of the night a few hours later, and gave me two appointments right away. Speaks native English. Very cordial but professional.

Do not visit Dr. Berger under any circumstances. He will push you to attend therapy with him twice a week and then try to get you into his group therapy. He seems to do this with every patient. A major red flag since treatment is a one-size-fits-all proposition. His cancellation policy is absurd: 5 business days notice with no exception for unexpected illness after which you will be stuck paying the full freight for the missed session. He forgets previous session details and is inattentive.
