Very caring, very professional doctor.
She was very careful in measuring my eyes for the correct lense to put in my eye after cataract surgery. The vision in my eyes now are 20/20, the best in my life ! She has gotten my glaucoma pressure regulated by the surgical procedures she has performed and keeps a regular check to maintain my eye health.

After an Opthalmologist in Crossville, TN (Dr. Michael Patterson!) really messed up my vision/eyes, I was referred to Dr. Hudson. Her office did a thorough exam and determined the other Dr. Did screw up my eyes, leading to a recommendation of Cataract surgery. After being miss treated once, I went Vanderbilt Eye Institute for another opinion (Dr. Brown, another fabulous Dr.), who said yes, Cataract Surgery will correct my vision issues, and that Dr. Hudson is more than highly recommend for further treatment. She did not get offended in any manner re me seeking a verification of her treatment plan. She explains every thing/answers all questions throughly and in a way to facilitate my understanding. SXhe is professional, and has a soft side. I highly recommend her, and yes, she did my cataract surgery and undid the errors of the other Dr. in Crossville. Thank you Dr. Hudson.

Quick and rushed. Concerns on re-visit summarily dismissed. Declined to perform another needed procedure due to insurance. Was willing to self pay. Odd and curious.

She may be good at what she does (she's touted around town & my eye recommended her for this particular problem), but she is crude, has no grace, no sensitivity to her patients, severely lacks a bedside manner, is not gentle, tells it like it is (which I appreciate) but in such a blunt fashion it's incredibly distasteful. No finesse whatsoever, and comes across a bit arrogant because of all the preceding. She didn't introduce herself to me when she walked in, didn't tell me what she was going to do, squeezed the heck out of my eyelid to try to get some fluid out of a sty (and it HURT a LOT! Did she even have on gloves? I don't recall.), DID tell me if it still bothered me to be sure to give her a call, but...why would I - given all the preceding? I had met her years ago when I was first in town trying to locate an eye doc - I found her abrasive then, and nothing has changed.

I had cataract surgery on my left eye yesterday and I cannot express how much I absolutely love Dr Hudson and her staff. I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 and to be able to see everything crystal clear and beautiful is something I can't explain! Dr Hudson is kind and caring and makes you feel as though you are her only patient. I will never be able to thank her enough. In 2 weeks in getting my right eye done and I am actually excited about eye surgery. I would recommend her to anyone, always. I won't go anywhere else. Thank you, Thank you!

I had Lasik vision surgery by Dr Alissa Hudson on December 2,2020. I was very very nervous beforehand. She was extremely patient and professional with me. My vision is great now, best money I've ever spent! And it's really great not having to put contacts in daily.

I had my first patient visit with Dr. Hudson this afternoon. As a physician myself I knew at once I had chosen a highly qualified specialist in Diseases of the Eye. She is calm, kind, and approachable. Her staff reflect her values and her leadership. Consequently her patients enjoy a calm, service-oriented environment. Dr.s can be difficult patients, I was at ease at all times during my appointment. Dr. Hudson demonstrates a professional trait that has become too rare in clinical practice, today. She demonstrated that she knows that eye-balls do not walk in off the street on their own. They come in with all the other tissues and organs that make us who we are. The pressures on physicians today are nearly overwhelming. Dr. Hudson noted something innocuous on my hand that had nothing what-so-ever-to do with my Vision. An appropriate referral was created right then. Dr. Hudson not only understands what to do about your vision--she also has your back!

My elective Blepheroplasty in March of 2018 was performed without incident, and I'm quite pleased with the results. Dr. Hudson is a gifted surgeon. I am disappointed, however, that billing discrepancies and inconsistencies were not resolved despite my legitimate dispute of add'l charges ($150) for the 5 min. it took me to discuss upcoming surgery. My insurance was billed for this conversation! (I WAS A SELF-PAY PATIENT AND I PAID $2,500 IN FULL PRIOR TO SURGERY, AS REQUIRED).

I think Dr Hudson did a very good job on my surgery. I am, however disappointed that the options for lens was not discussed with me, prior to the surgery on my right eye. I thought I would be able to read after the surgery, only to be told that I would have needed a bifocal lens. I would have paid the difference to upgrade to a bifocal lens, but it was never offered. Very upset.

Dr Hudson is an excellent surgeon but their optical department is seriously lacking in quality. My glasses were made wrong three times so I thought it best to have the doctor check the prescription. They refused to give me an appointment with the doctor. After spending $244 plus the amount Medicare paid them for the glasses, the optician's advice was: "Try blinking your eyes".
