Dr. Alicia Tobin-Williams, MD

I saw Dr. Tobin-Williams for a breast check, I was having some sensitivity. She did physical exam and didn’t find anything but suggested I get a mammogram and breast ultrasound. I checked with my insurance to make sure both were covered as a routine mammogram and ultrasound, my insurance called on a recorded line to Dr. Tobin-Williams office to clarify if the order was for routine or diagnostic imaging the office said the orders were for a routine screening mammogram and r/s ultrasound. Dr. Tobin- Williams coded the mammogram as routine screening but not the breast ultrasound which she coded as diagnostic, which costs $700 through Marshal medical. Had I know the ultrasound wasn’t going to be coded as routine screening I would have gone to a different medical imaging center that was $150. versus $700. After my insurance and I called multiple times to ask Dr. Tobin-Williams to resubmit a screening code she refused. Very disappointing, saying one thing and doing another.

I've been a patient of Dr. Tobin Williams for over 8 years now and she has always been kind, patient and caring. I've never felt rushed at any of the appts I've had with her, which have been quite a few lately. I've had a variety of female health issues over the past year and she's always been there to thoroughly answer any questions I have, explain follow up test and procedures I might need and promptly following through with any referrals needed,. Thankful she's my Dr.!
