Agreed. No bedside manner
I had a consultation and met him. He was recommended by another doctor. He immediately started asking questions that I have already discussed with two other doctors at Scripps. He ordered x-rays that I didn't need. I had x-rays and an MRI that showed I had a cyst in my spine that was causing all the pain in my right leg. Now he says he has to wait to see if my insurance will cover it. I have GEHA - United Health care. I am a retired government employee. I am covered. It says in his profile on Scripps - His treatment philosophy is simple: Treat every patient like a family member. He is from Maryland and I think he has forgotten how to be compassionate with people who are injured and in a lot of pain. He is 43 and I am 61. I was brought up to respect older people. He graduated in 2008. I graduated 20 years before.Choose another doctor if you can. I have been in pain for almost 2 months. I need a procedure he is offering. I just hope I never have to talk to him again.

My surgery was outstanding
I had been referred to by my general practitioner. I got a second opinion and a third opinion before I went ahead with surgery on my neck. I’m happy to say the surgery was a success and he was the ultimate professional. He did what he had to do because of my neck problems. I am now almost a year out from my neck surgery and very happy with his work and you will be too!

Do not install a hammock over a concrete floor
It broke and in 1988 I had a double laminectomy. I was pain free until 10 years ago, when I started having referred pain in my hip. Dr. Bagheri completely solved that problem with a 3-hour surgery. So glad the doctor suggested making room for my spinal cord without fusion and so glad it was done at Scripps where I had a room with ocean view. Recovery was not easy but proceeded as expected. Dr. Bagheri explained everything carefully and answered all my questions.

After getting into a car accident I was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. I broke my neck in two places. Dr. Ali Bagheri saw me in the hospital and immediately made me feel at ease. He was very informative and his bedside manners were excellent. After wearing a neck brace, my neck healed without surgery. Thank you for continuing to watch over me as my neck heals.

As a doctor myself I know how patients should be treated. Dr. Ali Bagheri is an exemplary doctor. He did an excellent job of explaining why I suffer from chronic neck pain and arm pain. Even though he's a surgeon he viewed surgery as a last resort, but after failing physical therapy and injections I ultimately required surgery for my neck. After waking up from surgery I immediately had relief from my neck and arm pain. Thank you for being my doctor.

I visited Dr. Bagheri for severe leg pain. After doing physical therapy and injections, we decided that surgery would be the best route. He was very informative and compassionate in the whole process and I trusted his judgment. When I woke up from surgery my leg pain was completely gone. I would recommend him to all family and friends.
