Poor diagnostic skills
I showed up at my appointment with Dr. Caroccio with extreme chest pain in addition to the leg pain for which my orthopedic doctor referred me to Dr. C, a vascular specialist, to rule out a clot. “Textbook symptoms of pulmonary embolism (PE)' according to my primary care provider (PCP) and every one of the 10+ ER doc's who evaluated me in the ensuing 48 hours. His PA was initially dismissive of my leg pain and spent 15 minutes trying to convince me to go home and “try rest and massage”. Even after finding the clot in my leg, despite being the expert, Dr. C. sent me home instead of the ER. My PCP followed up with Dr. C and was told there is no way the clot they found could be associated with a PE. Fast forward 24 hours - I had extreme chest pain and fainted in the car – when I regained consciousness, I called Dr. C’s office and asked if I should go to the ER and what else they might do if it were a PE, his PA said 'nothing'. I should go take over the counter painkillers as he 'would not

My experience with Dr. Carroccio was actually the best I ever had with an physician. He handled so gentle and he cared for me as if he was my primary care physician. One time I was in the hospital and he came to evaluate me and he sat on my bed and assured me everything was going work out good. Dr. Carroccio is the best!

He’s a caring, concerned & knows more about cardiovascular disease than I’ve seen. Came from NJ just for these reasons & I'm so glad I did, as he saved my life.

After taking a reasonable amount of time to fill out my medical history in the lobby of his office, two physicians assistants took my vital signs and reviewed my concerns with me. Then Dr. Carroccio came in and assured me that I did not have an aneurysm. You see I had been misdiagnosed by another doctor. Dr. Carroccio even explain how the doctor had misread my MRI, as he had seen a few physicians make the same mistake. Dr. Carroccio's knowledge and compassion made me completely relaxed.
