Mitral and aortic valve
Dr Karavas replaced my aortic valve and repaired my mitral valve at St Peters in Albany Ny in 2018. He is the most compassionate and professional heart surgeon you can find

He is the best. I had valve replacement/repair and 2x bypass at the same time. He explained the surgery well. I recovered quickly, faster than anyone in my support group. My scar was healed in a week and I was back to exercising within the first month. He is easy to talk with, delightful in a not so delightful moment. He saved my life, and I just keep on ticking. People thought I should go out of town for surgery but I got the best from Dr. Karavas, locally at St. E's during a troubling time locally with COVID complicating things for medical environment but nothing that effected my care. Thank u Dr. Karavas.

Excellent! Personable, kind, takes time to explain and answer questions, attentive and extremely skilled. My 80 yr old husband was blessed to have Dr Karavas preform 6 bypass surgery on July 4, 2020 . He saved his life!! In less then one week he was home, walking and has had little to no pain. We will forever be grateful to Dr Karavas. MVHS is extremely fortunate to have this talented specialist.

My husband had a heart attack, was transferred to Mercy and assigned Dr. Karavas. Dr. Karavas performed a triple bypass on the husband, and the husband is recuperating nicely. Not only is he a skilled surgeon, he and his team will keep the patient and patient’s family abreast of everything before, and after surgery. We never felt like anything was being hidden from us, including any risks there may have been. I highly recommend Dr. Karavas.

One year ago today on April 20th 2016 Dr. Karavas performed four bypasses and a valve repair on me. He did a wonderful job and I cannot thank him enough. His skills are quite special and truly give the giift of life to people. Besides being a superb surgeon, his sense of compassion and humility is quiet evident. You could not ask for a finer surgeon for your care! _Peter Dee
