Knowledge and professionalism. Answered all of our questions with knowledge and curtesy. Gave some answers with surprising results.

Dr. DeHaan was great and the surgery went well. No complaints with him.I've had multiple surgeries and have prided myself on getting off of pain meds in short order and quickly recovering. This surgery was different. The pain was intense and lasted two months. Calling to request pain med refills and having to talk to Hannah was a frustrating exercise in humility. Her tone is snide and condescending, and her comments accusatory. 'YOU ARE JUST FINE' 'WE EXPECT YOU TO BE ABLE TO MANAGE YOUR PAIN WITH ACETAMENOPHEN AT SIX WEEKS' 'ARE YOU GOING TO PHYSICAL THERAPY?' 'YOU WILL NOT BE ON THIS MEDICATION LONG TERM' (duh, I didn't want to be or need to be). Obviously she thought I was lying about the pain and looking to score my next drug fix, which was absolutely not the case with me. Not by a long shot. I know the risk of addiction is high and is tricky for a doctor to navigate. However, it does not warrant treating a patient rudely. This put a negative spin on my overall experience.

Dehaan was beyond dismissive of my injury stating go to physical therapy four times, take ibuprofen and lose weight. He literally told me to do what I was already doing. I came to him because I was and am injured, simply want to know what is wrong and come up with a plan yet all he could focus on was my weight. Clearly he doesn’t understand nor accept people come in all shapes and sizes, we climb ladders and get hurt too. It was absolutely a disgusting experience and I have never gone back to him.I went to to another doctor who is actually helping me-had a MRI, attending aquatic therapy and working on next steps. DO NOT hesitate to demand respect from your doctor however know you Will NOT get it from Dehaan.

Dr Dehaan is a gem. He is compassionate and competent and explains well in layman’s terms. He was my surgeon for a total knee replacement and I highly recommend him

I had seen a PA at Orthopedic and Fracture Specialists twice about my knee before the visit with Dr. Dehaan. Aside from agreeing that I need knee replacement surgery, it's not clear they had communicated beyond that. Dr. Dehaan seemed in a hurry and provided cursory answers to my questions. He did not inspire trust.

I’ve seen Dr Dehann three times for my hip arthritis. He is both professional and knowledgeable.I appreciate the time he has taken to discuss my concerns and to present solutions. I’m on his schedule for a total hip replacement and I’m confident that I’m in the best hands.

The entire team was efficient, timely, and thorough. I was early and they moved me quickly they through x-rays. Dr De Haan was able to give me the results in terms that were understandable and outlined a long term course of treatment options. Great person and Doctor.

Dr. DeHaan does a very extensive exam including x-ray and asking specific questions related to your pain to help solve your issues. After examining X-rays and listening thoroughly to answers to questions, he then will perform physical analysis of the problem area. He is very thorough, intelligent and most of all compassionate to your pain and concerns. He takes the time to listen, explain what needs to be done to help the situation and then does what he can do to help the situation. I would highly recommend this true professional Doctor.

Dr. Dehaan and his team were flawless in every way during my total hip replacement. I am so very thankful for Dr. Dehaan. I would choose him again if I need any more surgery and would recommend him highly.

Injected hip for relief.

I’ve had several visits. First, for a total knee replacement, next for an MUA (manipulation under anesthesia), and of course all the appointments before, in between, and after. Dr. DeHaan is kind, knowledgeable, and an excellent surgeon. He put me right at ease from the very beginning and has helped me every step of the way. My journey has not been without complications, NOT from anything he did, and his team has been attentive, caring, and extremely helpful. Highly recommend for any knee issues.
