Dr. Vanni was terrific. Nobody wants to need surgery because they can’t pee, but if that’s your issue, Dr. V. is your guy. His communication is excellent and his team professional. Every time I reached out through the portal, I got an answer that was compassion and complete. The procedure went better than expected (no buccal graft!) and I was heading home in a matter of hours. It was a long 3 week recovery, but I was well prepared and supplied by his office. Within a few hours of removing the catheter, I was peeing like a racehorse and feeling great. 6 months later, everything is still working as it should. I am glad I put my trust in Dr. Vanni and am grateful for how much he has improved my quality of life..

They were recommended to me for urethral plastic surgery.I had this problem for a long time from a blow I had received as a child for many years, like more than 20 years with this problem and no doctor had found the problem but they only recommended this doctor to me and my life changed completely. The problem came because I had a scar on the urethra which prevented me from urinating and frequently and I went to the bathroom but I couldn't urinate at all, which caused inflammation, infection and pain when urinating, which is called urinary retention. But since I had surgery with the doctor everything has been perfect in the recovery and he is always attentive to my health to improve Sion during the course of the improvement of the operation and I recommend him to you, he is an excellent doctor.

For more than 30 years I have had every known way of having a cystoscopy to keep my urethra open - probably close to 60 procedures only to always have the result only temporary relief. I went to Dr. Vanni 14 months ago and he told me exactly what I needed to have done. I wasn't afraid of the surgery but was more concerned with the recovery. I had a cath several times and ended up in the ER before the scheduled removal dates. Dr. Vanni explained the damage I would do to my bladder-kidneys if I kept going the way I was. I couldn't believe how confident he was that he could help me. My four-hour procedure was completed in Sept 23. I went home that night and the cath came out 3 weeks later as scheduled. Although uncomfortable I went to work during this time. I just had my follow-up and was given a clean bill of health. I can't think of enough good words to say about Dr. Vanni and his skills. Dr. Vanni performed my 2 stage surgery for a urology issue I had. The original corrective surgery I had as an infant failed and Dr. Vanni was able to fix this with precision, professionalism and compassion.I would personally recommend Dr. Vanni to anyone who is in need of his specialty. This guy saved my life. He took the time to listen to my questions and made me feel comfortable despite being nervous about the procedure I needed done. Everything works better than I expected. My bathroom trips are a lot quicker now! Very satisfied and would recommend Dr. Vanni for anyone who needs urethral stricture surgery. Impressive confidence from day .#1. Explained the surgery for Peronies disease and the one drawback is the loss of 1 cm from the total length. After the surgery and all of the healing It was super straight but I had lost about half of my total length. At follow ups he insisted only 1cm was lost. He is 100% wrong. This was maybe 3 years ago. I was horrified then and I am horrified now. My wife divorced me and I fear any future relationship. When I look down I feel like I’m looking at someone else’s unit. I don’t know what to say except his surgery had a life changing impact on me……. And I regret the day I went to Lahey Hospital to meet Dr Vanni.

For the past 3 1/2 years I had been living in the most excruciating, hard, painful and very traumatic life with the bladder I was living with. May of 2022, my right kidney went into full pyelonephritis. I had over 32 abscesses on my kidney and it was killing me at that point. I had emergency surgery and I lost my left kidney. I was hospitalized for almost 4 weeks because the pyelonephritis got so bad I was dying quickly living with an overactive bladder that was refluxing up into my kidneys. At this point I was then put on the kidney transplant list for as the year of 2022 I was living with a nephostomy tube until we figured out what to do. We now could see I had refluxing of the bladder and my right kidney would not survive with bladder. I am now only not even 5 months post op from a cytestcomy/illeal conduit Dr Vanni and his team performed and I am living the life I have been dreaming about. PAIN FREE, and living a normal life. Dr. Vanni was part of the Team involved with re opening my urinary track after scaring closed the track from a long past prostrate surgery. Very competent along with Dr. Mourtzinos they were very reassuring that the problem would be fixed and restore my quality of life.

Dr. Vanni performed my urethroplasty and I could not be more satisfied. The surgery was much quicker than I expected (3 hours, when the literature said 6 to 8). It's 3 weeks post-surgery and I feel almost completely normal again. I'm also peeing normally again for the first time in 18 years which feels absolutely amazing! He has an excellent bedside manner and comes off as intelligent, confident and affable. Update: It's now 6 years later and I'm still peeing like a boss!
