I was seeing another Orthapedic doctor it’s Virginia Mason that was great, however he was not a surgeon. I get referred to this guy. He comes in has no clue as to why I am there hadn’t looked at my chart at all. He then proceeds to tell me to have a surgery I had been told not to have as I would get 0-25% relief and I would need the replacement in a few years regardless. I went to a different doctor for a second opinion and will be getting a knee replacement.

Beautiful ACL and Meniscus Repair
Dr. Friendman repaired my ACL and meniscus a month ago and it's healing beautifully. I am well ahead of all healing indicators due to his thorough and detailed procedure. I come from a family of doctors and everyone has been impressed by my experience. He works very hard and even took my call at 3:30am to send me more pain meds when needed. He really looks out for his patients and does not cut corners. Furthermore, I am a fat bodied patient and I really believe that he treated me the same way he would have a thin bodied patient. He pointed out that my injury was due to genetic hypermobility and never made me feel like I was the problem. He is kind, straightforward, and very knowledgeable.

My experience
My experience with Dr Friedman was very good. I saw him in his office for a couple appts before my surgery and he was always nice and polite to me, and took the time to explain the surgery. And most of what was done, and after my surgery he explained what he did. His staff is always very sweet and nice. I appreciate all the follow up appts with him. He did an excellent job on my knee.

Still waiting
I have a severely degenerated hip which has become intolerably painful. On the second visit he said he wanted to do a hip injection, but he would have to do it at another facility. He said someone from his office would call in a couple of days to get it scheduled. That was 38 days ago and still not heard from the clinic. I tried calling but got a recording that the office closes early on that day. That was it for me.

Wasted my time over and over
I came because of a shoulder injury that was floating up again. On a follow up visit he said he wanted to do an injection, but couldn’t do it in office that day. I had to come to another location. I came to That appointment over a month later and day in his office for over an hour. Her came in and said he didn’t want to go the injection that day either (he’d run Five different tests and now came up with more that he also wouldn’t do that day). If he wasn’t going to do the injection he could have not wasted my time and made me pay two copays for two visits where I was not treated. If you have something very simple wrong, maybe he’s fine. If you hang something complicated, I’d find a more competent doctor.
