Dr. Albert Takem, MD

This is the first primary I have ever been to that doesn’t do 2 appointments for annuals (1 for bloodwork, 1 to review). I should have known better after my appointment. No one called me for days after so I decided to check. I had some weird results I saw after looking at them on my end that I had never seen before. I asked to know what was going on and was met with some confusing and conflicting answers. I had to call the front desk and his assistant and since he wasn’t the one to flag it to me and his medical assistant didn’t know how to help either and gave me a ton of mixed messages of what to do. I just requested to see a specialist at this point due to getting mixed messages and just being confused at this point, and he ended up giving the wrong referral that I was told about by the front desk, and when I called to follow up I got yelled at by him saying “I can’t give referrals to everyone” he never acknowledged his mistake, and completely berated me. I just went to another primary not too long after who re-did the bloodwork, saw my results, and immediately told me to see a specialist. She may have saved my life because I was later diagnosed with a chronic disease that needed to be treated immediately. I’m never going back to Dr. Takem again. I felt placated, disrespected, and like my concerns as well as my health weren’t taken seriously. Also, there’s easily over an hour wait for each appointment, the patient portal has a ton of issues/most of the features don’t work, and the office smells really weird. I quite literally can’t find anything good to say about this place. Unless you have some very basic stuff going on, need some vaccines, and like waiting in a waiting room with music playing as well as the tv blaring at the same time.

The only problem that bothers me is not being seen on time. Appointment was at 11:15am and it’s after 12 noon and I still haven’t seen the doctor. I will say something to the doctor today. My time is just as valuable.

Dr. Takem and his staff are simply AMAZING!! The office is very clean and spa-like. All modern equipment. He took the time to listen to all of my health concerns and took his time to explain his recommendations and prescriptions. For any one looking for high quality health care where you don't feel like another number, I highly recommend Dr. Takem and staff.
