Very good job on the surgery and quick recovery.

Abdominal Surgery- Referred by my Primary Care. Didn't know Dr. Lam nor did much research apriori. While prepping for the surgery, I asked the nurses about Dr. Lam and were all extremely positive about how good of a surgeon he was..."compared to others?," I asked. The answer was yes. I didn't do a 20 questions, but felt better about my decision. Within 2 weeks of my surgery, I had my annual physical, and the physical doctor looked at the surgery site and commented that it looked very good. I took it as Dr Lam did a good job on the outside. I had no issues with redness, infection or anything. I honestly thought I would have much more recovery time before I had the surgery, but my post operation visit with Dr Lam indicated that I was good to go. I am very satisfied with the experience.

Has performed both of my recent surgeries at Torrence Memorial and I’ve always felt like I was in good hands. Answered all my questions and made me feel at ease prior to surgery.

Worst doctor visit ever. Inflicted a lot of pain on me-still feels bad weeks later( I had no pain before visit). Got a reminder about my appt only 1 hour before. Had none of my records. Had a slight hernia that he squeezed so hard, I jumped and still hurts. Recent sonogram would have told him more than squeeze. Jammed something up my rear, unlubed, Wasn't needed as I just had a colonoscopy. Hurt to poop for a week. Asked after if I wanted surgery. That's what I need him to tell me.

Dr. Lam saved my life. He came to the hospital in the middle of the night to perform a lifesaving surgery on me for a rare and deadly condition called cecal volvulus. I am alive today because of Dr. Lam, the great doctors at Torrance Memorial's E.R., and because of the skills of Dr. Lam and his experience recognizing this hard to diagnose condition. Post-surgery follow up was excellent too. He is a tremendous surgeon.
