Dr. Sweeney is the Doctor you Want
First, he listens, and he takes the time to explain things. His staff is excellent at following up. His medical assistant Megan is top notch and very good at follow up and also explains things very well. You feel like you are heard and cared about. You do not feel rushed. I like him.

Needs to refer patients to specialists
This doctor is an internist therefore though doctors do have a broad knowledge during their residency of different specialties when a patient is having multiple seizures they need to be referred to a neurologist an internist shouldn't be taking on the Specialty Service therefore medication gets misdiagnosed of amount to take and a patient gets over medicated. This is not only uncomfortable but discerning. Stop over medicating and get to the root of the problem. Provide treatment options. Provide referrals when asked. The office staff is a whole different story. Difficult to get an appointment after a hospital visit for a follow-up difficult to get a visit if you're sick

Outstanding Doctor!
My husband and I have been patients of Dr Sweeney for several years. My husband has some serious health concerns stemming from a transplant and Dr Sweeney has guided him thru some very stressful periods of recovery. We both find him to be not only professional but also very caring, friendly and understanding. He takes the time to listen to our concerns and gives us the best advice without judgment. I also think Tonya, his assistant is outstanding. She always listens and responds quickly in a caring, friendly, yet professional way. We feel blessed to be under Dr. Sweeney’s care. He’s the best! Dr. Alan Sweeney's office is seemingly run by petulant children. My first experience with them was via phone today. I received a letter from the Dept of Human Services stating this office never responded to their request for paperwork and asking me to call them and have them fax it asap. Quick back story: My father is an 80 year diabetic veteran with a kidney transplant. He can't dress, cook, wash or stand on his own. He needed this paperwork filled out to receive in home care. The office never notified my father the paperwork arrived and tried to conflate a missed appointment which was set before the paperwork even arrived. Horrible communication and a complete lack of professionalism and empathy is what I experienced today. I can't wait to get my father away from these horrid people. They failed to provide adequate care and literally blamed my 80 ailing father for the paperwork not being filled out. Disgusting nurses who should be working in fast food not around vulnerable people.
