Front desk doesn’t listen. I repeated myself several times and they only know how to do A and B. Anything outside of their script is foreign to them. Scheduling was easy. But I came here 3-4 times and never got my issue resolved. They don’t really explain what’s going on and how to remediate the issues. I ended up going to another doctor who listened and on ONE visit they resolved my issues. It seems like this office just wants to bill for things and not resolve your real problem. No idea how he received doctor of the year.

Dr. Shikani recently performed surgery on me. I found him to be very professional and informative prior to the procedure and after. I also felt that he took special care to accommodate an existing other problem that likely made the surgery more complicated. I am very impressed with his staff. Everyone from the people who schedule appointments, explain the preop procedures, the nurses during and after the procedure, and Dr. Shikani was professional, clear, and took all the time I needed to respond to any questions or concerns.

My experience was disorganized and did not instill confidence in me as a patient that I am receiving proper care. My consultation appointment went well. The staff and doctor were on time and requested a CT scan and follow up appointment. I did not see a doctor until almost an hour into my follow up appointment time. It was not the doctor I researched and came to see for consultation. At this time, the doctor could not login to the computer. Then, the doctor asked me why I was there and did not seem to know that they ordered a CT and follow up appointment. I carefully explained why I was there to see if they had a clue and it was apparent they did not. Then they were unable to pull up my CT scan and got on phone with radiology right in front of me. Ultimately they recommended a surgery and have not yet even reviewed the CT scan. In a nutshell, my experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and a little bit frightening.

Dr. Shikani is my doctor. He operated on my sinuses and fixed my problem. He is just wonderful! Dr. Shikani is very kind and he is the top in his field. I take medicine for psoriatic arthritis and it makes me vulnerable for sinus infections. Dr. Shikani watches me for this and I am so glad. And the staff is wonderful too. I am always happy to see them. Thank you , Dr. Shikani, for being my amazing doctor!

He rushed me in and out like he didn’t even care about me. He also aggressively put the light camera up my nose and it really hurt and when I told him he didn’t seem to care. He acts like he lacks empathy

The one star that I am giving Dr. Shikani is more than he deserves. In the beginning months of 2020, my grandmother visited Dr. Shikani, complaining of throat pain that was beginning to reach her ears. Dr. Shikani completely disregarded her pain, did not run any tests, or listen to her when she spoke of her other symptoms. One year later, she was diagnosed with late stage cancer. If you are African-American and value being heard by your doctor, do not visit Dr. Shikani. If you don’t mind being dismissed and walked away from while speaking, go for it. However, if you prefer an ENT who listens, please visit Dr. Rodriguez at Franklin Square Hospital. He’ll take good care of you.

Dr. Shikani first saw me when I was 2 weeks old with an ear infection, that began 18 years worth of multiple sinus scrappings and other ent related surgeries. I am now 31 and have not lived in the area for 14 years, unfortunately my sinuses have been giving me issues again but to try and find a doctor that has the bed side manner, disposition, and general professionalism that Dr. Shikani exhibits has been impossible. I'm tempted to drive the 7/8 hours just so he can treat me, anyone that is a patient of his is truly blessed. He certainly left a lasting impression on me.

Dr. Alan Shikani is absolutely outstanding. I had a Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty and am so happy with it he gave me exactly what I wanted. He is very kind and I highly recommend going to him for any ENT needs. Maryland ENT and Dr. Shikani both are fantastic and I couldn't have had a better experience.

Went in 12/28/17 with symptoms of sinus infection. Dr. Shikani recommended immediate CT scan. CT scan showed blocked sinuses and Dr. Shikani recommended immediate surgery to clean out sinuses. I was taken aback by the rush to surgery and felt like a round of antibiotics should have been the diagnosis, followed by a CT scan at a later date when sinus infection was gone. I did not go back and the sinus infection cleared up, I feel like they just want to rush to surgery here to get your money.

Dr Shikani along with 2 other Doctors formed a team that treated me for throat cancer (official diagnosis was CUPS). You can barely see where the neck dissection was done and I have been cancer free since 2012. Dr Shikani has always impressed me as a Dr that truly cares about his patients along with being one of the tops in his field. He takes time to answer any questions and concerns you may have. I am moving out of state to Tenn but will drive back for my yearly examine so I can keep him.

I have severe allergies that required a very aggressive regimen and seeing several different kinds of doctors. Dr. Shikani performed surgery to repair my nasal septum, clean out sinus polyps, and shrink my enlarged turbinates. Everything went and has otherwise been flawless. Fun fact: Dr. Shikani actually invented a some of the industry-standard ear, nose, and throat tools and procedures in use today. Search "Shikani Middle Meatal Antrostomy Stent" for one of them.
