Love him
His staff is very nice, his office nurse follows up quickly on calls. Dr Halpern is very nice, listened to my trouble with my knees. He suggested a 2 part procedure that has worked so well! I have bone on bone in both knees, not a ton of pain but limited mobility. Once I did the 2 part procedure- my knees feel great, I had more pain than I realized. I am thankful Dr Halpern suggested this procedure!

Worst experience ever in a doctor's office
Waste of my time off work for this visit, as well as the money out of pocket and to insurance company for a 'specialist' visit. Didn't bother to talk with me about my hip problems or even evaluate me, just said there was nothing he could do.

Was a waste of time and left feeling very defeated
I saw him in spring of 22 for my bad knees. I wasn’t in much pain, but had significant issues walking. I used a scooter every time I went grocery shopping and carefully planned errands so I wouldn’t be doing too much walking and I was only 54. I already knew my knees had arthritis and were bone-on-bone. After taking X-rays of both knees and a limited physical exam, Dr Halpern told me there wasn’t anything he could do for me. He brought up the idea of a shot, that was a two step procedure. This would reduce pain, but since I didn’t have much pain this wasn’t helpful. I cried at the appointment & left feeling very defeated, & hopeless. After speaking with the physical therapist & a Nurse (unrelated appointment) I went for a second opinion. The next doctor recommended a total knee replacement. Surgery was less than a month later. Best decision. 7 weeks later able to walk thru meijer without a scooter. I can do multiple errands in one day.

I've been with him for about 25 years or more, he had helped me out. He had done most of my surgeries. I would recommend him highly.

He refused to give me an mri, said there was nothing wrong with my ankle. I decided to get a second opinion. Not only was my ankle tendons ripped but to the point my ankle is severely damaged and i need surgery to get my ankle back to 50%. It will never be the same.

Dr. Halpern does not have the "best bed side manner", but what he has is the skill of a professional and I for one will be letting him do my knee replacement. as a side note I am seeing him at the Paw Paw office where things are done very professional from the time you walk in the door till you walk out.

The best orthopedic surgeon in Kalamazoo period. He is brilliant, a skilled surgeon, wastes no time with fluff, and isn't afraid to do FMLA paperwork

I had a serious accident, and he happened to be on rounds at Bronson hospital and they told me I'd never walk again and he fixed me up and I'm doing fine, walking fine and getting by better than ever. So take the time to see him, he's the best !,??
