Dr. Alan Greenberg, MD

Well, it did not start out well and I’ll chalk it up to Dr. G having an off day resulting in a gruff, apathetic manner. In addition, it was a bit disconcerting to see street clothing (ie hoodie) being worn from pre-op to the operating room (and it did not looked recently laundered). I get that he has been working for 36 years and I survived the anesthesia without incident, but boy when I was going under…my eyes must have been like saucers and it was not confidence inspiring. Perhaps the ZZ Top look would come off better as “a sharp dressed man”.In all seriousness, Please practitioners with presumably excellent technical skill do not forget your patients are often scared, anxious and 1 more minute of compassion (and professional attire) would help ease these stressful situations.

I am a 71-year young female, had a surgery on September 18, 2023, and Dr. Alan R. Greenberg came to the Pre-OP section of Peter Piper surgical Center to introduce himself and clarify anesthesiology related questions before the surgery start. He was very caring, asking detailed questions related to my previous experience with anesthesia and when that part was completed, Dr. Greenberg just rolled me to the Operating Room cheering me in his kind and humorous manner making me feel relaxed, very safe and ready for the surgery. Dr. Akl, my most knowledgeable and skilled surgeon in team with Dr. Greenberg created a miraculous life-changing experience for me after suffering for 8 years from the previous poorly performed surgery by another surgeon. I am grateful to Dr. Greenberg and want him on all my other procedures requiring anesthesia. I was often over-dosed in anesthesia and was experiencing headaches after surgeries until I discovered that my weight was not getting changed.

Fully agree with reviews saying Dr. Greenberg is exceptional! So grateful to have had him as my anesthesiologist!!!!! He took the time to thoroughly answer all my many questions and helped me feel much more at ease about my surgery. Having had multiple surgeries, I am well acquainted with the negative side effects of anesthesia. I had concerns going into surgery about waking up disoriented and vomiting. I am happy to report I had neither of these side effects, and in fact, I felt fantastic after surgery! I think this is largely due to Dr Greenberg listening to my concerns and adjusting my anesthesia medication accordingly. If you are fortunate enough to have Dr. Greenberg as your anesthesiologist, rest assured you’re in good hands!

Condescending. Zero Empathy Abusive in O.R.

Exceptional anestheiologist...my first surgery in many years. Took the time to answer any relationship to anesthesia and dementia. After surgery, I was fully aware, cognigant, with no side affects from the anesthesia. Highly recommend Dr. Alan Greenberg!

Dr. Greenberg is the best. If not for him my surgery would not have happened.
