Dr. Alan Block, DPM

In 2016, I had “foot reconstruction” surgery by Dr. Block to fix a bunion. Now, almost three years later, my foot is still swollen and red, and I am in pain most of the time, with a huge bump on the arch that wasn’t there before. The risks were never explained to me. My quality of life since the surgery has deteriorated because I can no longer do the things I love, such as hiking. When I went back to the doctor to see if he could help, he was dismissive and arrogant with no concern whatsoever. He basically told me there is nothing he can do to fix the problem the surgery caused. On my last visit he spent more time joking with the nurses out in the hall than he did trying to help me. His office staff is rude & unhelpful. Having this surgery and using Dr. Block was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. My recommendation is to not use this doctor.

I needed ankle surgery to move my heel to the center after a fall. My assumption was moderate surgery with recovery. He did not advise me that I would be in a walking cast for 6 months, a horrible wound that needed daily in-home Nursing wound care. Patient/Doctor communication was sorely lax. The nursing staff was exceptional in communicating with patients.

Neuritis - who new what that was? Well now I do because of the Doctor's explanation. So pleased with this office and staff and care! The shots I get in my feet are great and the Doctor administers them with great care!

Dr. Block diagnosed and performed surgery on my foot for a fracture and tendon tear. Dr. Block's expertise, kindness, patience and thoroughness is why I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone with foot issues. He is the best and spends however much time is needed with you.

I went to Dr. Block because one of my toes w/hitting the top of my shoe. He told me that I had the beginning of Hammer Toes and did surgery on four toes, minus Big toe. After healing my little toe w/turned at 180 degrees! It wasn't like that to start with. I then had surgery from a different doctor to correct it. I am in constant pain. His waiting room was always full of people for post op appointments. At first my thought w/that it w/a good sign. Hindsight tells me differently.
