Dr. Akeel Merchant, MD

My sister, Sherri Paradise had double knee replacement surgery in January and April 2024 at Texas Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She should have had these surgeries over 10 years ago, but was afraid to because she gets deathly ill with all anesthesia her entire life. The pain finally overcame the fear and she had to have the surgeries. We told Dr. Merchant about her past experiences and he listened! He assured us that what he would give would not make her sick (we have heard that numerous times before!) Dr. Merchant fulfilled his promise! She wasn’t a bit sick either time! She is 67 and a breast cancer survivor. She has had numerous surgeries through her life and always had horrible experiences from the anesthesia. But not this time! Dr. Merchant is our hero!
