Dr. Ajit Deshmukh, MD

I highly recommend Dr. Deshmukh and the NYU langone staff. I had my left hip replacement surgery on January 22 and am currently pain free and have resumed all activities. He is very caring and knowledgeable and an excellent surgeon. The pre and post op physical therapy is must to regain total mobility. I was apprehensive at first but now believe it is one of my best decisions to have had the surgery.

Dr. Deshmukh is a consummate professional. He calmed my fears regarding the surgery. He took the time to explain the entire process both pre and post op. He is kind, caring and takes the time to answer any question. He called me a few days before the surgery to give me that added reassurance. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Deshmuck is a highly skilled doctor who truly embodies his motto of “desire to minimize patients’ pain and suffering.” My father underwent a knee replacement surgery this past July, and I can’t emphasize enough how meticulous Dr. Deshmuck was in handling my father’s case. After two failed knee surgeries one replacement and one revision surgery. We got recommend and at the same time we wanted another opinion. Dr. Deshmukh from the start was very welcoming and paid attention to every worry and questions we had since it was for a second knee replacement since the first failed. He gave details for all outcomes and didn’t pressure us in having us decide on the spot such as a prior experience we had with a different surgeon that we weren’t happy with. He gave us confidence in his capabilities and honesty about the circumstances which led us to trust to proceed with the surgery. So far it’s been a success in recovery and therapy. There has been much more improvement that we could have ever asked for and surpassed the outcomes Dr.Deshmukh informed us about which truly is a blessing. My visit was good. I just had my second knee replacement. Dr Deshmukh is a fine doctor. He explains everything. And I wasn’t nervous about the surgery. Because I saw him before for my right knee replacement. I would tell any one who need knee surgery. I would send them to see him at NYU.

When I met Dr. Deshmukh for my hip initial examination for hip replacement he was very thorough immediately which put me at ease. I had been very worried about some changes in my body, and Dr. Deshmukh assured me, and is absolutely right that after my hip replacement I'd return to my normal stance measurement. I recommend Dr. Deshmukh for hip replacement, absolutely. My scar is minimal and I walked 100 feet and up and down 5 stairs the next day from his surgery on me 6 p.m. the day before. Dr. Ajit Deshmukh not only provides you with every detail and outcome, he makes you feel like nothing could possibly go wrong. I walked out of the hospital feeling great and the followup visit even better, I was completely mobile immediately after the surgery. He did not interfere with what was not necessary to be interfered with, he only applied his surgical skill to the area that needed it.

The surgery went well without complications and that same night he called me personally to see how I was doing and let me know more about my follow up care. I was completely impressed. Dr. Ajit Deshmukh is an outstanding doctor and human being. He recently replaced my right hip and the entire process was flawless. After three months I am completely back to my normal life. He and his team were attentive at every step of the way, communicating speedily with me whenever I had a question or request. What meant the most to me was his kind personal regard for me, from the thorough explanation of every phase at our first meeting to phone check-ins and in-hospital visits to reassure me before and after the operation. In today’s medical world, he is one in a million.

Run don’t walk to see Dr. Deshmukh. Well if you can run that is. He is one of the top hip surgeons in New York City. If not the whole country I have had both my hips replaced and it was a great experience. I am 100% pain-free and I highly recommend, Dr. Deshmukh

On January 1, 2023, I fell down at work, breaking my right hip and injuring my right leg. I received a hip replacement the following day. My surgeon informed me everything was going smoothly. I saw him every two months, each time complaining of the severe pain in my right leg. All he would say was 'Give it a year.' The first six months I was using a walker then graduating to a cane. I was a prisoner in my home, having no desire to be around people, in my condition.Then my GIFT FROM HEAVEN arrived. I consulted Dr Deshmukh. He explained thoroughly how the inserted STEM was incorrect and was the culprit of my agony. He said I had to have another surgery.On April 3, 2024, Dr Dishmukh inserted a new STEM. I could feel the difference the next day. Every day I felt better and better. He changed my life. I feel reborn. VERY IMPRESSEDWhat stood out about Dr. Deshmukh is his compassion and the way he eased my anxiety regarding my knee replacement surgery. He explained the process of the surgery from beginning to end. My wife told me that he did something that no other doctors did for their patient’s family. After the surgery he came out to her in the waiting area to let her know that the surgery went well and I was in recovery and someone will come to let her know when I was ready to get visitors. She said that, that alone would make her refer him (which she did, to a coworker’s friend) to anyone that needs a Orthopedic Surgeon.
