Dr. Ahmad Ahmad Salameh, MB BS

Had a very low positive RPR syphilis result (it was 1 on a scale of 0-1000+). My primary care knew nothing of syphilis and sent me to see Dr. Salameh. Turns out his office is out of network for my insurance, which my primary and his office both did not alert me to. Phone visit was quick, and he prescribed a standard round of antibiotics. I asked about the high false positive rate and about any risk of neurosyphilis/other conditions (I've been with the same partner for a decade, so this is an alarming test result). He was not concerned. I took the medication (28 days of antibiotics that make you insanely allergic to the sun) then fought and waited to get in at Mayo for a second opinion on the neurosyphilis risk. They ordered a follow-up blood work that showed no antibodies specific for syphilis...so I never had it to begin with/false positive. This cost me time AND money...AND probably skin damage. I'm not happy and cannot recommend this doctor or his office.
