Avoid this office for your own health
repeated awful office experience. Rude office manager and front desk. doctor does not communicate the true needs of patience but simply recommend patients to schedule endless follow-up appointments even when not necessary simply to bill patients insurance. no regard for patients' time as every appointment has been delayed and no courtesy to inform patients. complete disregard to the elderly and non-english speaking patients. utter disgrace for a medical center.

An excellent and caring doctor
Dr Ma is an excellent doctor who saved my mom's life. My mom was hospitalized at RMC San Jose in March 2022 with refractory CHF secondary to failing bioprosthetic aortic valve. She was dying as no doctor at RMC can treat her. Due to the logistics and insurance issues, my mom was not able to be transferred to Stanford for aortic valve replacement. While everyone was giving up, Dr Ma still pursued on coordinating the transfer. He personally spent days contacting Stanford and my mom's insurance company. At the last minutes, my mom was approved to be transferred to Stanford and underwent an aortic valve replacement. She has been recovering and doing well. Our family is very thankful to Dr Ma's dedication and caring of our mom.

The doctor did not provide enough information and is not quite helpful. On my husband's most recent visit, the receptionist refused him just because his Anthem Bluecross insurance is secondary not primary. My husband also has Kaiser as primary. He was told this is a new policy, so even if my husband is an old patient and has been seen by the doc many times, he was refused to see the doctor this time after 50 mins drive. He has been waiting for quite a few weeks to get the spot. The receptionist is very rude. First it is not fair if people does not have Anthem as primary. Second, even if they have the right not to see patients with Kaiser as first insurance, they did not gather enough info before patients come to the office. It is wasting patients' time and they do not care about patients at all. Please avoid them.

Dr Ma is a very caring cardiologist with outstanding medical knowledge. I have seen many doctors for my hypertension before going to Dr Ma. He spends time explaining to me and prescribes the medication that cures my hypertension. His office staff is very professional and friendly.
