Arrogant
He tried to start an IV after being told an ultrasound was needed to locate veins. Only one stick was allowed. Against protocol he tried twice…unsuccessfully. I was subjected to a long, very long verbal tirade about how I was in control of my care etc. insulting my intelligence. I believe he hoped I would cancel my surgery making me the ‘bad guy.’ His presence was traumatic to this patient who has had two hips replaced and two open heart surgeries.

I broke 3 bones in my foot and needed surgery. Due to my prior open heart surgery the anesthesiology team was very cautious. I was lucky to get Dr. Adewale Adeyooye as my main anesthesiologist for the procedure. He explained my cardiologist findings on my chart and what it meant visually and verbally and what that meant for me when being administered anesthetic. He also explained the concerns and suggested test I could take to better understand what is going on with my heart (as I had the heart surgery at a very young age). I’ve never had a Dr. explain something so precisely and exact and it left me feeling at ease and safe to be put asleep. He is truly a gem.
