I am in my sixties and I can honestly say that this doctor is the worst I've ever been to. I had been dealing with UTI's for months and was in terrible pain. When I went to see him he wouldn't even look at any of my lab results, questioned that I had even had UTIs (how can you determine that without looking at labs?) then told me he just wanted to wait for 4 months and see how things went. The following week I ended up doubled over in the ER. I tried calling his office before going to the ER but spent almost an hour on hold only to be sent to voice mail when my call went through. I was never called back. And every other time I called his office I had to wait at least 45 minutes to talk to someone and again, they never returned any of my calls. On top of that, the doctor came off as arrogant and uninterested. Horrible bedside manner. I am now under the care of a wonderful urologist who took my problems seriously and I am feeling much much better. Avoid Hickerson. He's horrid.

Excellent caring physician. I had two urology surgical procedures performed by Dr. Hickerson, both successful with minimal side effects and recovery time. Dr. Hickerson's academic and residency medical background is first class. His experience is also top notch. I trust his professional judgment without reservation. I highly recomend him.

Took my 94-year-old father there on the advice of the doctors after a trip to the ER. Dad has been a patient for 15 months. I can count on one hand the number of times he has seen the doctor and have fingers left over. My dad gets his catheter changed - sometimes as often as every two weeks, sometimes ones a month - yet every time we go in they have to "guess" at the size needed and he has never had the same person twice. We went this morning and apparently this was the worst one yet. The wait time is always ridiculously long. We had a 9:00am appointment on a Monday morning and still had to wait almost an hour. Phone calls are not returned, prescriptions and lab orders are not submitted. At one point, my dad had his catheter removed then they rescheduled his appointment for five days later. The fact that they expect anyone to go five days without emptying their bladder defies common sense. The doctor and all of the people who work there simply do not care about their patients

Knowledgeable and highly competent urologist and surgeon who has good communication and patient relation skills. Throughout my husband’s surgical procedures he kept me up to date with personal phone calls, and would patiently explain what I needed to know. My husband feels save with Dr. Hickerson and has been his patient for over 10 years. Can’t recommend him and his staff enough.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience and surgery with Dr. Hickerson and his staff. He always gave me plenty of office time never rushing through the appointment and always explained the problem, options, advantages and disadvantages. You will also find his office manner is very comfortable, honest and reassuring.
