Assessment, or interrogation?
I don't know if doctor thought I'm stupid, or if he treats all women this way. I came to him because he had done my first colonoscopy. I don't remember him treating me this way the 1st time. Something changed. He wanted to have a 'chat'. Instead he began interrogating me. He started asking questions about whether I'm 'capable' of following directions, or staying on a treatment plan? These are actually quotes. I am not making this up. I felt like I was in some kind of Twilight zone. I told him several Xs that I was very confused by his line of questioning and wasn't really sure where he was going with this. I also told him that I was feeling very talked down too. I have a PhD, so clearly I'm not an idiot. He's not the 1st doctor I've ever seen nor is this the first time I've seen him. I asked him to explain what he meant. He was never able to. Something felt off. I didn't trust him. I got a different Dr. It's important to feel safe when you are in a vulnerable relationship like that.
