Beware of medicine side effects
I have depression. Dr. Ashton prescribed Rexulti. The rexulti gave me Tardive Dyskinesia which has progressively taken over my life, degraded my vision, made it difficult to swallow, sleep, I have lost my drivers license and I shake all the time I am awake.

Dr. Ashton offered me nothing. I asked for help and got nothing. I asked him to recommend a new psychologist. He said: “Go do it yourself.” Find your own psychologist. After receiving nothing from him I became frustrated and said: “You have done absolutely nothing for me.” I said I am done and hung up. What a waste.

I have been working with Dr Ashton for 20 years. He has gotten me through the toughest times in my life! I was ready to give up but he never did! He found what meds work for me and follows up quite frequently. This man saved me from being a depressive mess to being an active member of my community.

If you have an appointment bring something to read, he has never been less than 30 minutes late. On more than one occasion it was more than an hour. He does ask some relevant questions but rarely lets you respond with more than a one sentence response, He seems to be in a rush to complete your appointment and this makes it difficult to relay important information to him.

Dr. Ashton has worked closely with me in working with the right medications and combinations best helpful for my major depressive order. He is very knowledgable and acutely aware of new drugs and new methods of treating depression, and especially treatment resistent depression. He spends time and will further talk things through if something else is going on. He also checks regularly to be sure I am doing the therapy needed as a part of him working on the chemical imbalance.

Personable. He cares about what I had to say. He listened and talked to me like I mattered, like I was a person. We discussed together what the plan was going to be. Any questions I had throughout the visits he answered in ways I could understand.
