Took extra time to explain my condition

Dr. Pandula was excellent. I am a Kaiser member and called of a walk in appointment at the Hawaii clinic for what I thought might be a ruptured tendon in my armpit after completing a 24 mile canoe race. She took photos, emailed them to the orthopedic and sprots medicine clinics and within 10 minutes was able to diagnose my situation while i was still at the clinic. She followed up 2 hours later with an update from the orthopedic department to schedule a sonogram of my shoulder. She also was able to diagnose a skin issues as non cancerous and took numerous photos and sent them to the dermatology department for their review. I felt she knew what she was doing, genuinely cared and was very proactive. I highly recommend her.

She harassed me for weeks, saying that I have this and I have that without even testing. Every time she almost predicted my death, the test results came back negative. I take opioids -and have been for almost 14 years- and she treated me like a junky, humiliated me, cut the dosage and was constantly lecturing me. She uses scare tactics all the time. I asked to change doctors but before that I updated my will and changed my business to an LLC so that my nephew inherits the business without problems after I my death, which I thought was close. And you know what I had? Iron deficiency and diverticulitis. I never want to hear from her or even see her again. She’s the worst doctor I ever dealt with in my entire life and I’m almost 75 years old and I lived in third world countries..

Dr. Pandula goes above and beyond. She even calls afterhours and is very reachable. She takes time to listen also. I feel really confident to have her as my doctor.

She is very rude and has huge attitude problem. Fix your attitude Dr Pandula Stay Away ... Horrible experience.. she should not be practicing and playing with peoples lives ... Shame

I saw Dr. Abby Pandula for ongoing medical advice. She has previously worked at several other medical groups in Honolulu for a short time before coming to Kaiser. She has difficulty with making timely specialty referrals to her peers & colleagues. Her style of communication is overbearing and ego driven. Internal medicine doctors are tasked with being the "quarterback" for your diagnosis as and that is not possible when your doctor is a solo pcp instead of being a team player in an HMO facility. I would not recommend her due to her poor bedside manner and lack of integrity, empathy or compassion for difficult medical conditions. Kaiser has a great selection of doctors to choose from. I would not recommend her.

Given my considerable stress around COVID-19 and concern Hawaii could be doing a far better job of vaccine registration for seniors under the age of 70+ who are both high risk; e.g., due to an autoimmune disease and who are in an ethnic group exhibiting a predisposition to a more severe course with the COVID-19 infection, I am taking this opportunity to give Dr.Pandula the highest rating. I would be happy to recommend her to family and friends as their Primary Care Physician with Kaiser Permanente - Hawaii. She thoughtfully called me as personal follow up after I addressed my concerns in writing. While it was after her normal work hours, she took time and care in listening to me .... in addressing my concerns ... and in making useful suggestions -- all worthy of the 5-star rating!
