Does not listen
I had this doctor while being hospitalized. I came in for severe chest pains. I was suppose to receive a narcotic every four hours but it stopped working after one and half hrs and he refused to give me anything else until he came to see me. So all night I was in horrible pain, steadily asking the nurses to page him and he kept denying it. It took for the blood doctor to come in a tell me he would adjust my dosage. Dr finally strolled in around noon to ask me how I was doing. I asked him why didn’t he prescribe anything else, he said the amount of pain they said I was in didn’t make sense so he wanted to see me first. Are you serious?? Why wouldn’t he see me immediately when he got there. I was in pain all night and he didn’t check on me until noon. So unacceptable. I’m thankful to the other doctor because he adjusting my dosage helped TREMENDOUSLY.

Dr. Shahbain had been my doctor for approximately 13 years. He has a very calming nature and is very thorough. I recently decided to look for another doctor after several negative experiences due to changes to office procedures and office staff. These negative experiences are due to the integration of physician assistants into the practice, inexperienced blood draws (tech has me pump fist prior to drawing electrolytes), billing insurance for tests that were not performed, policy to not release routine lab results unless an in person visit is scheduled, and ultimately a very negative experience with a an office staff member who identified himself as Himli.

He called me by the incorrect name. The nurse had to beg him to order an orthopedic consult to address my painful shoulder that I fell on. The results revealed a rotator cuff year. He too hours to return three pages from my nurse. He upheld my discharge and waisted Medicare dollars. I would not recommend him to anyone. FYI Dr. Shabain....my name is not Lydia!
