Left the clinic because of him
Doctor is in his own world. Treated me like a toddler. Thought I’d get a sucker after my visit! All I got was a bunch of mumbo jumbo voodoo advice on alternative lifestyles because apparently he doesn’t believe in Western medicine and actually administer medicine! I should have seen Dr. Google. It would have been more helpful and cheaper!

Thorough, thoughtful, informative and caring
Both my husband and I see Dr. Pomerantz and his PA, Katie. They always give the option to see whichever we want. The Dr. was very interested in details of our health and family history, asked us lots of questions. He was good at explaining what he was thinking and why. He ordered tests to learn what might be causing some of my issues and others to verify the progress of others. He never rushes and takes a sincere interest in our health and our lives. Katie is also is very competent. We are comfortable seeing her for followup and injections when we have no new major issues. It is apparent she and the Dr. communicate well together. Our waits are not too long in the waiting room. When we do wait a bit in the exam room, we don’t complain because he takes as much time as he needs with us. The staff has always been friendly to us and is helpful in scheduling a day and time that works for us. We would recommend Dr. Pomerance to anyone seeking a Rheumatoligist.

Not impressed
The office used to have great staff and doctors. Now that Dr. Pumerantz runs is alone it’s changed and not for the better. The staff seems on edge. And the Dr., well he presents with a very fake “sincere, caring” attitude. When pressed about his treatment plans he shows his true lack of genuinely caring attitude. He expects his patients to just “man up” and deal with pain and stiffness. Or try expensive alternatives. Nothing medical or insurance covered. He’s very out of touch with the average person. You can tell he comes from a very entitled background. Acts quite godly. With his resume, what he is doing in T-town at the lowest clinic is a mystery.

This office made me feel so unimportant, like I was an inconvenience to them. This entire doctors office is extremely unprofessional. I am 20 years old and got referred here by my primary doctor for having a rheumatoid factor 3x the normal amount. I am in constant pain so I was so happy to hear I will finally be getting treatment. A week and a half after my referral got sent over, I still haven’t received a call from this office. I decided to call myself, and spoke with Nicki,. She told me I needed a referral to be seen, which I got one sent over. After looking through her documents she said she received it and she would call me back. Another week goes by, no call. I call again and get asked the same questions. She finally asked me the “new patient” questions and told me she would call me back with an appointment date. I wait another week, no call. I have to call AGAIN for the third time and get asked the same questions I have been. I then find out that the rheumatologist passed my paperwork off to another provider at this office because he didn’t think my condition was severe enough and the provider that I would be seeing is on vacation for the next two weeks. All it would've taken was a phone call from them to me telling me that she will be on vacation, but instead they leave me waiting for weeks while my pain gets worse. She was supposed to be back in office this past Monday, so I waited until Thursday and still, no call. I called once again on Thursday and was told I was not approved for a visit yet but my file was in the system and she would leave a note on her desk. How am I not approved? I am in pain and have a rheumatoid factor 3 times the normal amount! I should've gotten called back the following morning but I did not. My pain is getting worse every day and I am trying to catch this as early as possible. I am in tears nearly every other day because of how bad it is getting, I have to call off work and miss my college classes because I physically cannot move. I feel so defeated and helpless, how can a doctors office put you off for this long after you keep calling? I think Dr. Pumerantz saw I am only 20 years old and thinks my condition cannot be as severe as everyone else. I got a new referral for a new rheumatologist and I recommend all new patients do the same.

Exceptional Physician
Dr.Pumerantz and staff are the most thorough and knowledgeable of any medical physician I have ever met in my lifetime. I am 63 yrs old and my whole life been told my symptoms are this and that and not taken seriously. This doctor ordered testing I’ve never had before and validated that my issues, pain and concerns are very real and found the correct diagnosis for my autoimmune issues. I highly recommend this physician!!

Dr. Pumerantz is one of the most exceptionally thorough, compassionate, and competent doctors I have had the pleasure of knowing. As a patient who has more than one rare and difficult to diagnose and treat disorder, I have spent a lifetime being dismissed or disbelieved by multiple specialists prior to my eventual diagnosis via genetic testing. The first time I met Dr. Pumerantz, he ended up skipping his lunch break in order to take twice as much time as my appointment alloted in order to get a thorough history and understanding of my conditions. He never dismissed my concerns, and made sure that I got all the tests and referrals that I needed. When he retired his position at Fort Bliss and went to Toledo, I was very sad. They're lucky to have him. He's one of the best of the best.
