Dr. Aaron Aldape, DO

I had a telehealth appointment with Dr. Aldape last month. I recently had a telehealth appt for a separate issue and the stark difference in care made me want to come back and leave a positive review since I haven't been able to stop thinking about how he did such a good job. He patiently and empathetically listened while I listed my UTI symptoms and asked a bunch of questions. Using that information he proposed a treatment plan and asked my opinion. Ultimately he was 100% correct and that plan cleared everything up, but where he really went above and beyond was in discussing the side effects of the treatment and what follow up steps should be. My typical experience with telehealth is the call ends without any directions for what to do if things get worse, or when to see an in person doctor if it isn't resolved. He even recommended the tests I should ask for so I'm enabled for any future visits.I wish I could book visits with him directly. Great doctors like this are rare.

Attempted telehealth visit which I'd used before without issue (I work in IT) but Dr. A seemed to have issues connecting. No word back from anyone and I'm dealing with COVID right now. I missed crucial rest I could've taken for a missed and re-scheduled appointment. I gather that he was not prepared or too busy to sign on early enough to be sure his tech is working properly. I don't know for certain but what I do know is that no one had the courtesy to call me or reach out. I will now lose hours of rest to reschedule another appointment. This certainly is not a positive health outcome. I'm nervous enough as it is with COVID and this only makes things worse. If his practice chooses to use this technology they should spend the time with it to be certain it works properly and get proper tech support. My system is fine. I actually do this (phones and video conferencing) for a living.

Dr. Aldape had been my physician for 6 years. In my 50 years, I have seen many doctors but none were as good as Dr. A. He bed side manner is perfection, he doesn't beat around the bush and speaks to you in a non condescendingly. He has a great sense of humor and is totally dedicated to his patients. All I have to do is say two sentences about what ails me and he is ready to not only diagnose, but also treat me. I love that he is a DO, fixing him more insight.
