Very detail oriented and thorough
I was nervous about visiting Dr. Hussain considering there are a lot of other negative reviews, but I thought he was great. He was extremely thorough and spent an hour with me today, even though I was scheduled for a 30 minute appointment. He took my concerns very seriously and I could tell he really cared about trying to help me. I have been to 3 other doctors at UH and he was the best by far.

Walked out
I left after an hour of waiting. Receptionist that checked me in, didn't even remember me or the elderly lady that came in after me. Asked if we had been helped yet. After an hour, I knocked on their window and asked if the doctor was even in. The receptionist asked what time my appointment was. Really lady? I told her, then she turned to ask another worker about the doctor. That lady said he HAD a complicated patient. If that was true, at least come out and tell your other patients and give them the option of waiting or rescheduling. I was the only one for a half hour before the next patient came in. My first appointment there 6 months ago was a long wait. It's ridiculous! So, I will be looking for a new doctor. I only went to him because my other doctor retired.

Dr Hussain was a tremendous disappointment. He did not listen to me, dismissed a great deal of what I said, and only did an extremely cursory exam. This is not what anyone should expect from any physician, especially not a neurologist who must have exquisite attention to detail. It should come as no surprise, then, that he completely misdiagnosed me. For the sake of your well being, avoid him.

No "extensive time" was spent on educating us on clinical findings. We never agreed to a "plan". Nor were we told an asssessment of visit or future plans - medications, etc. Doctor reported patient has no eye problems, while he has macular degeneration and has stopped driving because of it. Mentioned to doctor patient was having trouble seeing pictures on the phone screen. Many more comments in doctor's report that were inaccurate such as comments on patient's feet. While only his face was visible on the phone. Doctor appeared arrogant and indicated he was wasting his time on us. We do not recommend this doctor for neurological assessments.

I cannot even begin to describe the nightmare that was my husband's appointment with Dr. Hussain. Dr. Hussain was interruptive, dismissive and arrogant to the point that he directly said to my husband that some don't like him and if they don't then that's their problem. A couple of times during the virtual visit, he interrupted my husband to say that he needed to stop and "get over it". He essentially called the other doctor's on my husband's team idiots. The reality is that while Dr. Hussain may well be "good" at his job, his bedside manner is nonexistent. No amount of book smarts trumps the need for kindness and empathy. Stay far away. You'll save yourself the aggrevation.

I needed to see a neurologist for Dysautonomia. I am established with UH. He is very knowledgable but carries a weight bias against people who are overweight. He acted like he was interested in my care and it was complex. He came back with psychiatric referral for binge eating and PTSD. I was very insulted. He wrote in his notes that I had anxiety because I'm human I have feelings. Poor beside manner. If you are obese avoid this doctor or you will be getting referrals to psychiatry and bariatric surgery.

I'm not sure if I can articulate into words the level of gratitude I feel for this man. In my life I've never met another doctor that has shown the level of knowledge and care in his work as much as I've witnessed from him. I am absolutely certain he saved my life and gave me hope when I hadn't any left- I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

I needed to see a neurologist after ER visit. Extremely biased about other medical conditions I have, reviewed my list of symptoms but did not acknowledge or answer my questions, kept focusing on my weight and mental health, did not perform any type of physical exam. Referred me to psychologist among others not needed, plus referral for hypochondria, but did order some labs which came back abnormal (guess hypochondria is out) and wrote more referrals, the needed ones. One appt=10 referrals.

I thought Dr. Hussain did an excellent job in diagnosing my condition on my first visit. Unfortunately I was unable to see him, or anyone in the office as they were running over an hour behind, but did not advise the patients as to this fact on my second. When asked about wait time, other patients were advised that two doctors were working, and that the wait would not be excessive, although excessive was never defined. A reschedule required more than a 30 wait for an appointment.
