Palliative Care - Saint Thomas Rutherford

Our family was very displeased with the unprofessional and inept staff at St. Thomas. Our mother had an amputation performed on Friday. We were given no information post-surgery and had to call her doctor at his office twice (4 days later) to receive feedback. Since our mother is also a stroke patient and cannot communicate well with doctors, we visited her daily and asked every nurse, tech, and even the nursing supervisor to call us with information. Out of those we asked, only one nurse during her entire 7-day staff called to say she had no information from the doctor. Our mother received one bath at the end of her stay after we requested this multiple times. Even asking for water for her seemed to frustrate the nurses. We know this hospital is short-staffed during this time, but it still was unable to even meet the basic needs of its patients.
