Medicare patients beware

Dr. Carter's bedside manner is great. Unfortunately, if a Medicare patient she will see you, but her billing office will code a regular office visit as an annual wellness check. Medicare patients get one of those per year and in my experience a regular family practice doctor tends to use the classification. Consequently, unless lucky on timing, a $400 to $550 bill will follow when Medicare refuses to pay.
