Pinon Family Practice

Over 7 years time, my family and I were only able to see Physician’s Assistants and not doctors. The basic exams were only ever performed and quality healthcare was lacking. I’ve only recently found out to the degree that this has been the case since seeing a new MD. The last PA we saw at Pinon for the last year was not someone I chose, but simply assigned to with all the turnover. The last visit was the end for me. I simply asked if they would ever be hiring another doctor to the practice. The PA came back extremely rudely said “no” and that “this practice isn’t for everyone”The message was clear….we don’t care at all about you. 7 years later. We have since moved to a new family practice, seeing an actual doctor and immediately are feeling a positive impact with our healthcare. The doctor asked questions, made modifications to daily healthcare that we were never asked at Pinon. We should’ve made this change years ago. I’ve never felt more like a number than at Pinon.

We love Pinion and have been with them for 15 years. As a big family with some significant medical needs we need a medical practice that can hears us, sees us quickly, and understands our needs. Pinion has an incredible staff that are warm and helpful, in crisis, they are supportive and get us the care we need! I have regularly had the front desk jump through hoops to get my child seen quickly. The doctors have been so excellent and knowledgeable, I recommend them so highly! This is a wonderful, comfortable, setting with a kind, supportive group of people!

I had a very negative experience at Pinon Family Practice today for a new patient intake. I did all the client history paperwork in the portal earlier in the day before arriving, but apparently it didn't save, so the medical assistant had to ask me a variety of questions again. When the Jacqueline Van Cleave, FNP, came in the room, she did not introduce herself or ask me my name. She did not ask me why I was doing a new patient intake. She started to ask me the questions that I already answered on the portal. Then she was reading my vitals and was commenting on them. When she got to my weight, she said 'elevated.' I stopped her and asked how she would even know if that was true, since she had never met me before and had nothing to compare to. She got defensive and said she was establishing my history. I did not appreciate her comment, as it had not bearing on care. I told her that this would not be a good fit and left the intake. She was callous, annoyed and seemed rushed.

My family and I have using Pinon for years - all with great experience. The support staff and providers are caring, kind, compassionate. I highly recommend this practice

I am disappointed to have to write this review, but I have called 5 times over two weeks to try to speak with someone about my experiences with this practice and my calls have not been returned. I would not recommend visiting this office. My family and I started coming here 7 years ago, and all of the doctors we previously saw have left. Perhaps that’s the issue, but I’ve had less than ideal experiences with the last few practitioners I’ve seen there over the past several months. Over the past several months, they have ignored my concerns, refused to call me back, and it has been a terrible experience to diagnose my medical conditions. It was after several office visits with no results and no follow up care that I tried to contact the office manager, who has refused to call me back. I will be transferring myself and my family’s care out of this office and will not be recommending them to friends and family as I have done previously. Don’t go here if you want to receive care.
