Dr. Ha is firmly rooted in Virginia, growing up in Springfield and graduated from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. Twelve years of education and training at the University of Virginia and the Johns Hopkins Hospital culminated in his final year in Baltimore as Chief Resident. His philosophy is to provide thorough examinations, in-depth dialogue to address any observed problems, and a treatment plan supported by years of training and experience, resulting in happy, healthier patients. Dr. Ha and his wife, Carrie (also a TJ and UVa Grad) enjoy traveling with their their children Ethan, Elise, and Everett to experience world history up close and also the splendors that the US has to offer at the National Parks. Dr. Maggio started Renewal Dermatology & MedSpa in the summer of 2012, having recently retired from a career in military medicine spanning three decades. He served as a faculty researcher and physician in the country's third largest dermatology residency training program for 15 of those years. He loves to teach and learn. Colonel Maggio is a combat veteran who has practiced dermatology all over the world but regards Virginia as his home, where he met his wife 25 years ago. They raised their five children in the Commonwealth. He enjoys running, hiking, swimming and gardening.Dr. Maggio specializes in the surgical treatment of skin cancer, as he is both fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and board certified in Dermatology. He also has advanced training in laser and cosmetic dermatology, especially facial rejuvenation.
