Laura M. Foot, MD, is a urologist at Tanner Clinic. Her practice is located on the lower level of the Layton South Building. Dr. Foot feels right at home in the male-dominated specialty of urology. That's appropriate, since she's one of only three female urologists in the state.Urology was her field of choice because this specialty, dealing with all issues of the urinary system, requires problem-solving skills. As a surgeon, she also appreciates its variety. I'll do something under the microscope, she said, and the next case is a big, open surgery where you're removing kidney cancer.Dr. Foot specializes in enlarged prostates, overactive bladders and urinary-related cancer, particularly of the prostate. She is also the leading provider for MonaLisa Touch, a minimally invasive and painless laser treatment for vaginal rejuvenation, which can help with the symptoms of vaginal atrophy: pain during intercourse, vaginal discomfort, urinary incontinence and recurrent UTIs.Dr. Foot earned a B.S. in chemistry, as well as a M.S. in biological chemistry, from the University of Utah. While there, she was a research fellow in hematology and oncology at the Eccles Institute of Human Genetics. She has also conducted research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the Moran Eye Center, resulting in published peer-reviewed scholarly articles.She earned her M.D. at the U of U School of Medicine, where she stayed for her residency in urologic surgery.Dr. Foot, a native of Kaysville and resident of Fruit Heights, is married with two children.

Trevor R. Smith, MD is a kidney specialist practicing in Logan and Brigham City, UT. He received his Bachelor of Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He then attended medical school at St. Louis University in Missouri. Dr. Smith returned to Utah for his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at the University of Utah Hospital and Salt Lake VA Medical Center. He was previously working in Ogden, UT and Evanston, WY where he served as medical director of the local dialysis units. Dr. Smith is excited to provide kidney care to patients in Northern Utah. Dr. Smith's primary clinical interests are in general nephrology covering conditions that include: glomerulonephritis, polycystic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, dialysis, transplantation, conservative kidney care for advanced kidney disease and long-term care of patients. He also has a passion for caring for underserved populations. Dr. Smith has been involved in local and national kidney meetings and has taught future medical providers at McKay Dee Hospital and the University of Utah School of Medicine. Trevor was raised in Orem, UT and he and his wife Elise, currently reside in Morgan, UT. They have 8 children (7 girls and 1 boy) and enjoy spending time with their family hiking, camping, riding off-road vehicles, biking, snowshoeing and water activities. Trevor and Elise also spend a significant amount of time supporting the kids in their activities which include: volleyball, karate, tumbling, piano and endless hours of homework.
