Rated 5.0 out of 5 starsCounselingPO Box 999Orem, UT 840592.5 miles awayBiographyMy name is Chanel Carlile and I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in the state of Utah. I received my M.Ed. in clinical mental health counseling and B.S. in psychology. My primary focus is on the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, though I have experience working with a wide array of concerns, including trauma, addiction, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Because I have worked in both private practice and community-based mental health settings, I have treated a variety of issues ranging from panic and OCD to personality and psychotic disorders, and feel this breadth of experience has made me a well-rounded clinician. I view therapy as an opportunity to assist you in finding practical tools to help decrease your current distress, while also addressing underlying causes/driving forces of such distress. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I tailor established theories and evidence-based interventions to suit each of my clients' unique personalities, situations, and values. Although my foundation is based on principles of humanistic and psychodynamic therapy, I also frequently pull from acceptance and commitment, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and narrative therapies. While therapeutic approach does matter, research has shown that the best predictor of therapeutic outcomes is not one particular approach or strategy over another, but the therapeutic relationship itself. When I first set out on my own therapy journey, one of the most frustrating things was finding the "right" therapistsomeone I clicked with and felt truly seen and heard by. There is power in connection, and I place a lot of value on forming authentic, caring, and respectful connections with each of my clients. I genuinely care about people and firmly believe that each of us is worthy just because we exist. Nothing you could do or say would change that belief. I want to hear about your whole selfthe parts that are good, bad, ugly, scary, shameful, boring, average, excitingI understand that people are complex and nuanced, and I want to help you see that all of those parts have value. When I'm not seeing clients, I can generally be found collaging, crossword puzzling, or enjoying a good spoonful of peanut butter. I love collecting rocks, making up songs for my dog, and taking pictures of the sky. I'm an accomplished procrastinator and master self-roaster. I'll forever hate putting away the laundry, and I frequently stay up way too late. But hey, I'm only human.

Russell Gaede, M
Rated 3.7 out of 5 starsCounselingPO Box 999Orem, UT 840592.5 miles awayBiographyWelcome! Whatever events brought you here, you are in a safe place of confidentiality and help. This is a space for you to explore the issues and concern you have in your life and to come to some resolutions and direction. I am a seasoned professional with over 20 years' experience, however, I do not take myself too seriously and I like to have fun in therapy while maintaining focus on the issues you present. I have a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, a post Master's Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I am trained in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Humanistic-Existentialism. I draw from these and other modalities according to your needs and preferences. My work experience includes working with young adults and adults. I have worked with adults involved in the justice system, those with addiction, and mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety. I have a background as an instructor at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our sessions can be through whichever method makes you feel most comfortable. I find it helpful to use video sessions for at least some of the sessions, but if you would prefer to only chat that is just fine too. I welcome all clients of the LGBTQ+ community as I am an ally. I work with those in the LGBTQ+ community as well as parents of LGBTQ+ who are struggling. Outside of being a clinician, I am an Ironman Triathlete. I look forward to helping you!
