After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975, Dr McKellar earned his doctorate in medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1983 prior to completing his residency in orthopedic surgery from the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. After practicing in Tennessee for many years, he and his wife Michele, returned to home to Texas in 2016. They enjoy hiking, traveling, and spoiling their six grandchildren. Dr. McKellar is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, is a proud fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Brian I. Nwannunu, MD, MS, is an orthopedic surgeon with Texas Joint Institute located in McKinney and Sherman, Texas, fellowship-trained in adult reconstruction and total hip and knee replacements. Dr. Nwannunu earned his bachelor's degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was part of the Morehouse College Honors Program. Upon graduation, he completed his master's degree in physiology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a concentration in complementary and alternative medicine. Dr. Nwannunu then graduated with his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.Dr. Nwannunu completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas, before pursuing additional training with a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
