A native of Boston, MA, Dr. Eric Taylor Jr. graduated from the University of Detroit-Mercy as valedictorian with an AB Classical in classical studies before entering The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. It was during his second year of medical school while conducting research with the late Dr. Levi Watkins, renown for placement of the first ICD and pioneering of implantation techniques, that he was exposed to electrophysiology. He completed a stint at the NIH as a Sarnoff Fellow before graduating from medical school and being awarded the Warfield T Loncope Prize for excellence in clinical medicine.
