Dr. Ashley J. Bassett is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialized training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee.She is a team physician for USA Gymnastics and currently serves as the director of the Women&rsquos Sports Medicine Center at the Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey. Prior to her position at the Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey, Dr. Bassett served as a team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and 76ers as well as Villanova University and Saint Joseph&rsquos University Athletics. She also served on the medical staff for several running events, including the Philadelphia Marathon. In addition to traveling with USA Gymnastics, Dr. Bassett is also the head team physician for Sussex County Community College and provides sideline medical coverage formany local high schools across Sussex and Morris Counties. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presentations and book chapters on the diagnosis and management of sports-related injuries.
