Terenig Terjanian, MD, is a hematologist and medical oncologist at Northwell Health, and an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Growing up in Lebanon, Dr. Terjanians early love for biology and chemistry set him on the path toward medicine. After attending St. Josephs University, he did a residency in pathology at American University of Beirut Medical Center, and one in internal medicine at Staten Island University Hospital. He then did fellowships in hematology and oncology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Although he initially specialized in pathology, Dr. Terjanian chose cancer care as a main focus after coming to the United States in 1981. ``The number one thing I want patients to know is that I'll listen to them,`` he says. ``I try to go over every aspect of their disease slowly, explain why we order the tests we do, and have them be completely aware of all the steps,`` he says, adding that he often gives patients his cell number, because he knows concerns can come up anytime. ``I think of what I would want as a patient, and it would be a doctor who really cares.`` Dr. Terjanian is deeply interested in clinical research. He has been the principal investigator on several protocols, including those of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project at Staten Island University Hospital, and has published multiple peer-reviewed papers and abstracts and presented at international meetings. He also runs the research committee for medical residents interested in hematology-oncology, and for fellows in that specialty. He's a member of the system-wide Institutional Review Board, a group that ensures clinical trials are done ethically and safely. I have been Service Chief of the BenignHematology Service in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology since 2006. As a clinician, my main interest is in the care of patients with thrombotic and bleeding disorders. As a researcher who conducts clinical trials in Benign Hematology, my interest is in thrombosis and hemostasis, specifically thrombophilic disorders and women's health issues. It is my hope that through dedication to the care of each individual patient, and dedication to research that will ultimately improve that care, we will meet our overall mission of helping our patients to have a better quality of life.

Dr. Julianne Lauring is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She graduated from Boston University and received her M.D. from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.She was the Associate Residency Program Director for OB/GYN at Umass Chan Medical school from 2018 to 2020. She was awarded the faculty teaching award at Umass Memorial Health in 2019. She assumed the role of Maternity Center Medical Director at Umass Memorial Health in 2020. During her time, she implemented a significant number of quality improvement projects that improved patient care and patient experience.She is excited to join the team at Weill Cornell Medicine to continue the ongoing work. She is particularly interested in improving the ways we provide care while also enhancing the patient experience and reducing health disparities.
