He went on to complete a flexible rotating internship at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem Pennsylvania for one year. He then went on to complete a general surgery residency for six years at the Robert Packer Hospital/ Guthrie clinic in Sayre, Pennsylvania. He then completed a colorectal surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
