He graduated cum laude from the Vanderbilt School of Arts and Sciences with a double major of Chemistry and Molecular Biology. After graduation, Dr. Woodworth was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army Medical Service Corps. He deferred his military duty so he could attend medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine Wichita. Dr. Zihni is a foregut surgeon who joined SurgOne and the Denver Esophageal and Stomach Center in October, 2018. Dr. Zihni has particular interest in esophageal and stomach surgery including anti-reflux surgery, surgery for achalasia, gastric or esophageal cancer, and gastroparesis. He is trained in minimally invasive surgery, and can perform most procedures laparoscopically or endoscopically. Dr Zihni has published extensively on outcomes of minimally invasive surgery, as well as the ergonomics of surgical platforms and educational strategies in surgery.Dr. Zihni was born and raised in Queens, New York. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a degree in biochemistry and completed his medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. As a medical student, Dr. Zihni completed an additional year of research as a Doris Duke Fellow at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he studied burn immunology. Dr. Zihni completed A general surgery residency at Washington University in St Louis, where he spent an additional two years of research studying ergonomics of surgical platform, robotic surgical education, and outcomes of foregut surgery. Dr. Zihni went on to complete a fellowship in foregut surgery at The Oregon Clinic in Portland, Oregon before joining Dr. Kurian, another Oregon Clinic graduate, in private practice. Dr. Baer is a native of Colorado. He attended Cherry Creek High School and graduated at the top of his class. He went on to attend Harvard University and received his degree in Biology, with honors. While at Harvard, he was awarded the Harvard Scholarship for three consecutive years while maintaining a job and being a four-year varsity athlete. He graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Dr. Baer completed his surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While completing this 5 year program, he was also a flight physician for MedFlight, a helicopter rescue/transport service. Following his residency program, he completed a fellowship at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, in Gloucester, England. Upon completion of this program, Dr. Baer returned home and has been practicing general surgery in South Denver since 1992. Dr. Baer's professional interests include, gastrointestinal surgery, cancer surgery, breast surgery, hernia surgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He has special interests in endocrine surgery including minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as laparoscopic adrenalectomy. Dr. Baer was the Porter Adventist Hospital Chairman of the Surgery Department for 5 years and President-elect for 3 years. He is finishing up his 3 year service as President.Dr. Baer is married with two teenage daughters. He enjoys all outdoor activities particularly running and snow-shoeing. Dr. DeLine has practiced at Porter, Littleton, and Swedish hospitals after finishing his residency in 1989. Dr. DeLine completed his residency in general surgery at St. Josephs Hospital in Denver, Colorado. His professional practice of surgery includes interests in surgery of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands; advanced laparoscopic procedures; and cancer surgery of the breast, GI tract, and skin, including melanoma.
