He has also enjoyed caring for the everyday athlete making it through life. Even though Dr. Brummel is a surgeon, he believes strongly, that whenever possible, nonsurgical treatment should be discussed with patients as an option. His focus is to provide excellent medical care with a friendly and compassionate approach.

As an orthopedic surgeon, my goal is to provide personalized care to my patients, utilizing leading edge techniques to treat musculoskeletal conditions, improve function, and help them return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Philip Balikian is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine, adult reconstructive surgery, hand and upper extremity. He grew up in Boston and graduated with honors from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Balikian completed his medical school and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, in Worcester MA. Dr. Balikian lives in San Diego with his wife and two children. Prior to joining Arch Health Medical Group in 2006, he was in private practice in Kentucky for 6 years. Dr. Balikian enjoys painting, cooking, gardening and traveling. He is committed to giving back to his community and has traveled to Armenia for several orthopedic missions. Dr. Balikian believes in treating everyone with compassion, kindness, and integrity. He is committed to making a positive contribution to the wellness of his patients and their families.
