Biography: After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in chemical engineering and a degree from Plan II, Dr. McDonnold received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She then moved to Providence, RI to continue her medical studies at Brown University, Women and Infants Hospital in an obstetrics and gynecology residency. She then returned to Texas for a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.During her education, Dr. McDonnold developed a passion for improving women's health care that led to a career in obstetrics and gynecology. She discovered a love for helping and educating women through one of the most important and special times of their lives - pregnancy. This, along with her the desire to further understand why complications of pregnancy develop and ultimately how to prevent and treat them, led her to further specialize in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She has pursued research in the field of preeclampsia, including disease development, methods of prevention, and long term effects of maternal preeclampsia on children. Biography: Dr. Nicholas Spencer is a board-certified OB/GYN and maternal fetal medicine physician. He completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin and earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He went on to complete his OB/GYN residency and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) where he served as chief administrative fellow in his final year. He is proud to be back in the Austin area with his wife and two kids! Dr. Spencer is well-versed in conditions impacting pregnancy, including preterm birth, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and other high-risk conditions. He is very passionate about ultrasound and prenatal diagnostics.
