Dr. Robert Distefano, DMD

Dr Bob is a kind and caring dentist, who is conservative in his approach to treatment. His hygienist Anna however is rather harsh with her opinions on what you should do with your teeth, not to mention political biases. She told me that my teeth should bleed when cleaning, that I needed to get my bite straightened with invitation braces. She gave me a hard time for the half hour cleaning and made me feel very uncomfortable.

REVIEW UPDATE : to my review expressing concern about the noncompliance with COVID-19 avoidance protocol at this office, I will say this. In a written response to my concern the doctor has reassured me and I will pass on to you the fact that he is making a policy in the office to mandate the wearing of masks, taking of temperatures, and questioning patients before appointments to bring them all to the awareness of the dangers of spreading the COVID-19 virus. His reassurance is welcoming. Thank you, Dr. Bob.

I have been going to this doctor for many years and since I have no dental insurance, I pay the full amount for any procedure. I don't mind when I'm getting good care, but most recently I developed a serious tooth condition and after three visits to his office with minimal attention given this tooth, I've decided to go elsewhere. I could have a very serious problem now and even ended up in the hospital recently and was advised to see a dentist as soon as I was discharged. I believe I'm dealing with an abscess and why this dentist only did minor things like occluding the surface of the tooth, which did nothing to alleviate the problem. I suspect I may have a very serious problem, I just hope it's treatable.
