Dr. Richard Grundy, DDS

Dr Grundy is the most thorough, comprehensive and profession dentist I have every seen. He is awesome as is his complete staff. Absolutely the best dental care I have ever experienced. His office has the latest equipment including top of the line equipment to protect patients and staff from COVID 19 exposure and other infectious diseases. Without question, Dr Grundy is the most thorough, comprehensive and sophisticated dentist I have ever been to. I am a health care professional and a prior board member of the American Dental Association and I can honestly say that he is among the best providers I have interacted with. He goes far above and beyond for his patients and I have been tremendously impressed with Dr Grundy.

I came to see Dr. Grundy on the recommendation of a friend. I am not a big Dentist fan but this office made it a lot easier. He has modern state of the art equipment and they went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I needed a general check up but I did have one tooth that was painful probably because of a damaged crown. Dr. Grundy counseled me on everything he did and fixed the damaged crown. I have been very pleased with him and his office.

Dr. Grundy was outstanding simply AWESOME. I see some 1 star reviews and they all appear to be FAKE. I had an great experience as did my wife and we never experienced anything negative. We got in quickly was amazed at the state of the art equipment and technology. I have been to many Dentists and I will tell you that Dr. Grundy simply tells you the honest truth and you can make your own decision. He never pushed me or forced me to do anything. He showed me images of my teeth that he never even billed for! He wants to do the right thing and for the best interest of the patient.

We have been patients of Dr. Grundy's for many years. He has very high ethical standards and chose to venture out on his own when the practice he was affiliated with retaliated against him when he challenged its practices - - even mailing out letters defaming Dr. Grundy to his patients. The retaliation continues in the form of the obviously fake reviews posted about Dr. Grundy on this and other review sites (GUESS WHO? YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE - SHAME ON YOU). Dr. Grundy is one of the most honorable people we have met in his profession. My family now sees Dr. Grundy at his new office, which is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment. He steam sterilizes his dental tools in an autoclave and has installed back flow prevention devices. Notably, Dr. Grundy photographs all of his procedures, before, during and after and can pictorially show you how he performed your procedure. Fantastic dentist!

I was overcharged not once but twice. service ended up costing much more than they said it would and when I complain they just blew me off. Make sure you get it in writing what they're going to charge you.

My visit was okay but they overcharged me. Per my insurance the doctor is supposed to charge me a contracted fee since he was in network with my insurance. They overcharged me almost $100 for my filling. They refuse to admit their mistake and I have filed a complaint with my insurance company. I'm still waiting for my refund for what they overcharged me.

I have three crowns done by dr. Grundy and all three of them ended up needing root canals after he drilled on my teeth. I can't say for sure that it's his fault but that was my experience. I've had many crowns before and never needed a root canal afterwards.

The doctor saw me very late, I waited almost an hour past appointment time. No apology. I found Dr Grundy smug and arrogant. Quoted fee with my insurance was very high. Other employees were friendly. But does not offset doctors attitude and high fees.

Not a good experience for me. Dr Grundy told me I needed some treatment. I was skeptical and went for a opinion elsewhere. The next doctor told me my tooth was fine. On a different note my tooth cleaning went fine but was rougher than I am used to.

My family has been patients of Dr. Grundy for nearly 15 years. I consider him to be the best dentist I have had the pleasure of working with in my 63 years. I’ve been one of Dr. Grundy’s patients (as has my son) for the past five years at the Hayfield Dental Office/Kingstowne Dentistry. He has been, by far, the best dentist I’ve had in my lifetime (I’ll be 54 in a few weeks)! He cares very much about the patient’s smile, and will work tirelessly to make sure that it looks right and that you’re satisfied with the work. I highly recommend Dr. Grundy!!

Dr. Grundy hasn’t been working in Virginia Beach for over 7 years, his office is located in Fairfax Virginia. I am really surprised by the low stars because he’s always been a great dentist for me, my family, and friends. I know that the dentist that took over his office in Virginia Beach was inexperienced and awful. One my friends saw the new dentist for a crown and he broke off another crown during his appointment.
