Dr. Nivine El-Refai, DDS

Dr. El-Refai was very rude. I felt pressured into paying billing up front and getting unnecessary treatments. She convinced me to have a root canal done on a different tooth then my dentist recommended. She did procedures that were not covered by insurance and did not give me the option of opting out. I ended up paying over 3 times the cost vesus going to an edodontist not in my network of service providers. Never again!

I’ve never been treated with more respect and care than in this office. Dr. El-Refai spoke in a calm manner with me and explained everything in great detail to me as well. She taught me breathing techniques that helped calm my gag reflex and did amazing root canal work. I can’t recommend her enough!

I have had work done twice by Dr. El- Refai and would recommend her to my friends and family. My visits were painless and well worth the time and distance ( I live in Crawford county).

Felt very welcome and well taken care of. She is very professional and explains every detail in regards to your procedure. Follow up calls were made to see how i was doing and if i needed anything. Dr El-Refai and her staff are professional, efficient and compassionate. Prior to my procedure, Dr El-Refai was honest about the difficulty of performing a root canal on a tooth with a hairline fracture and the very real possibility that the tooth could not be saved. I chose to proceed and am very satisfied with the results. During the entire process, over several weeks, she was available for any questions or concerns, and took time to reassure me. I felt her prices were reasonable for the skill and expertise needed for this tooth and would gladly recommend her to anyone.

This is the first ever online review that I am completing. I am so thoroughly satisfied with my near perfect experience with Dr. El-Refai that I am taking this step. I saw Dr. El Refai one year ago in February for a failed root canal from a previous provider that had created an infection. Not only did Dr. El- Refai fit me in her schedule quickly, she redid my root canal and saved my tooth. Her technique was gentle, the communication from her office was tops, and her pricing was excellent. Thank you! I am a patient for life!

Dr. El-Rifai has done many root canals for me over almost two decades. I have used the "Dental Card" discount which has been the primary reason for giving my business to her. I am firmly of the opinion that she has raised her prices by adding unnecessary and expensive extra cost items to her advantage. Examples: 1) examination well over $200 2) Calcification over $300. Recent proposed charge for tooth 4 was about & $1450 - after the denta- card discount!! - office is decorated like an Egyptian tomb. - Eastern music playing almost exclusively. - Doctor whisper to assistant so patient cannot hear. - When speaking me, has accent that's difficult to hear. - etc, etc. Went to Wooster, OH Endodontist who did not honor any discount program and charged $450 less than El-Rifai, communicated very well, had a bright cheerful office, friendly employees and did a wonderful job with excellent results.

I can't say enough about Dr. El-Refai and her staff. I was able to schedule a same day appt. and have a root canal started too. She explained everything she was doing and put me at ease throughout the whole procedure. I don't even mind the 1 hr. drive because she is worth it.

I would never recommend this doctor. She did a very expensive procedure that she should not have done. No compassion.

This was the best experience I have had regarding dental care, I highly recommend anyone to Dr. El-Refai’s office, the staff was great & Dr El-Refai is extremely detailed oriented & she took the time to explain every single details of the procedure, it was basically pain free. I cannot thank Dr. El-Refai enough for a truly wonderful root canal experience. I still can't believe that I felt no pain from the beginning to the end. She is really unbelievably good. I highly recommend her as an endodon

Nivine El Refai is one of the most comprehensive and skilled endodontist I've known. She is very thorough and will always consider the best option. Although the waiting time has been a little higher than expected, it was worth the wait (she was actually taking extra time for someone else). Having someone who explained all the steps and answered all my question is so valuable. I highly recommend her !!!

I received treatment from Dr. El-Refai for a root canal and was extremely pleased with the excellent care she provided to me. She explained everything thoroughly before administering the procedure. I would never go there ever again or even recommend this place to anyone!!! Waited almost an hour to be seen after my appointment time. Whenever the bill comes to me after being told my insurance is accepted I get a bill for $172 and then told that I was responsible for whatever my insurance didn't cover after being told it would cover everything and is accepted, called insurance and apparently they don't cover this office. I WILL BE REPORTING TO THE BBB!! Very unhappy!!!!!

This was the best place I've been for a root canal procedure. Nivine and her assistant did a very good job on my procedure. Nivine explained the procedure and answered all my questions. Also, a comfortable and clean atmosphere with soothing background music and a nicely decorated waiting room.

Dr. El-Refai is one of the only honest dentists I know! After being told by many that I needed to redo the root canal ($1000 procedure), she found that the tooth was actually cracked and retreating it would have failed. She then referred me to one of her colleagues. She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and gentle. I highly recommend Dr. El-Refai.

I am VERY particular about the people working in my mouth. Dr. El-Refai was FANTASTIC. She was very thorough in explaining what was going on and asked several times if I had any questions. She is very pleasant and prompt. I have no doubt she is one of the VERY BEST in her field. Happy to have found someone I could trust.
