Rude and unprofessional Office Staff
I needed clarification on charges and the secretary rudely hung up on me. Further, Dr. Vallins did NOT help clarify charges either and did not apologize for his rude employee. I will be looking for another professional, because this was NOT a professional place, even though he is in a bougie neighborhood in Manhattan, do not be deceived.

It’s all about the money. Factory-style appointments are rushed and they are always looking for ways to charge for extra service. Dr Vallins rushes from patient to patient & yet I never see him wash his hands in between. Wears his mask under nose. Assistant barely cracks a smile and makes it seem like you are bothering her when asking questions about procedure. Overall very unprofessional practice.

I have to write an update to my review of 07/14. I had an issue with Dr. Vallins’ assistant. I wrote my review because I had not heard from him or his office manager. However, once I heard from him, I can said that Dr. Vallins is extremely caring for his patients and staff. We texted numerous time and through our communication I learned how much he cares. His attitude and actions showed me that he is a loving, forgiving and caring doctor. I will not judge him for his assistance actions, nor I will judge the rest of his staff. Now that I got to know him better, I will 100% recommend people to go to him for any periodontal issue. We learned through our communication how much we have in common even though we come from different backgrounds.

I am in total shock that a Professional dentist named Neal Vallins DDS will send a client to collection for $30 for service that was not asked of him to perform. I came to him after confirming that my insurance will cover 100% of the work. I even asked his office manager more than 5 times. The answer by his receptionist was “Yes it is covered 100%” I asked if there is co-payment for consultation since this was my first visit to him, she said “No, not if he will complete the periodontist work, it will be covered.” I came and the hygienist cleaned my teeth (all 4 quadrants) and the doctor "Professional Vallins" YELLED at the hysgentis for doing all 4 quadrants. He told her that she was supposed to do half and that I was suppose to come back again. For 10 year, I have been doing periodontist cleaning every 3 months, the dentist that I went to did my full mouth during one session. So what is wrong with this picture? He is billing me for $30 and sending me to collection. How low can he get?

I had a terrible experience with Dr Vallins. I felt he treated my mouth like a piggy bank. The scaling and planning took barely ten minutes - (the doctor I left him for a week later spent closer to 40 minutes redoing it), then mid-procedure to relieve an abscess - with my gum cut open, Dr Vallins announced that I needed a second procedure that would cost $700+ out of pocket and that I had to decide that minute whether to do so; lastly, I had brought recent x-rays with me and was told he needed a "couple" of extra pictures. They then proceeded to take a full set. When I asked - mid xrays - if that's what they were doing, they denied it ("believe me this is not a full set", and then they billed my insurance for a complete set. I was truly traumatized by my experience with him!

This office is full of hidden charges, after all my procedures my bill should have been paid, I paid every co payment as well as for the fifth part of my surgery but instead I own over $700 why? Because its all about the money here. No one explain billing to you prior so suprise suprise you still owe us. His service was basic nothing special because hes all about the money and every other dentist I visit mention it... I was concerend about all the charges on my credit card and he reasured
