Dr Pfister and his staff are the best. First ever root canal and it went so much better than I envisioned. Very professional, and at the same time, very friendly.

I was referred to Dr. Pfister from my dentist . Renae the receptionist is very inconsiderate of anyone's concerns. I kept asking her what could I expect and she passed it off as nothing ,it was just a consultation. The Tech Rhonda seemed as if she was just wanting to get to the next person. She came in and never introduced herself I had to ask her what her name was. She appeared as she was in a huge hurry. She inserted the object into my mouth very forcefully and kept insisting I bite down. I explained to her I couldn't. I mentioned to her I do apologize ,however ,my mouth is very small. She then proceeds to ask the receptionist for assistance. She comes in like she is going to save the day and shoves this camera further into my mouth making me gag. She then retracts it out of my mouth and attempts to do it again. They had no sympathy or anything for what I was feeling or to the fact she was about to make me sick. I would not refer anyone here, they do not have compassion.

Dr Pfister charged me over $2000 for a root canal. It was a total failure. Now not only does my tooth still hurt where I now have to seek additional dental care to clean up his mess, 2 months later, my jaw and hearing in my ear have still not returned to normal.
I felt that I was on the clock as he hurried to get to his next victim. In fact, I felt he was strung out on something.
I felt that he was more concerned about maximizing profit than my care.
My advice, go elsewhere for a root canal.

I highly recommend Dr. Pfister & the wonderful & caring team at Advanced Upstate Endodontics - from the lovely Receptionist to the Dr's Assistants. The environment is attractive & clean. Everyone is professional, positive & caring. I was told by my Dentist, Dr. Erik Bianchi, (terrific team at Clemson SC Dental in Pendleton) that the area for my Root Canal was more complicated which was why he/himself would not do it. Fortunately, he recommended Dr. Pfister. The procedure seemed to be done in less time than I thought - Dr. Pfister, without embarrassing me, discussed what is my phobia (not his word) & recommended Nitric Oxide for me & I am glad he did - he also made light & appropriate conversation to take my mind off things & it helped. Took 600 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hrs for 2 days as a precaution & never had pain. If you are reading this than you are in need of a Root Canal - I hope wherever you go that it works out well for you - best wishes.

I have had pain for over 3 years on the right side of my mouth, but no one could find the problem, I spent thousands of dollars and nothing.. Them my dentist recommended that I go to Dr. Michael Pfister. What a blessing, he found the problem, and with surgery corrected what no one else could. I am pain free, and I can't tell you how happy I am. Not only that he and his staff were very professional, and cared about how I was doing, with follow up calls.. I give him more then a five star rating..

Dr. Pfister is a cocky young dentist that has a lot to learn about practicing good & honest dentistry. I was not given enough Novocaine during the procedure. Dr. Pfister didn't care that I was uncomfortable. All he cared about was getting to the next patient and collecting his high fee for his service. The front desk staff is completely incompetent. And what is more concerning - dishonest. Get everything in writing. Better yet, stay clear of this dentist's office.
